The originalXboxis Microsoft’s first console that was based on a version of Direct X which is why the name was chosen. Though the console had very little success in Japan, it still saw a good amount of support in the West. Many of the games were created with American sensibilities in mind so it would make sense that it would have more success over here.

While many of the games for the system were also ported over to PC, there are some games that were unfortunately left on the Xbox. Here is a look at 10 games that are stuck on the original Xbox.
10Xyanide
Xyanideis an overhead shoot ‘em up with twin-stick controls similar to games likeGeometry Wars. There is a lengthy and very impressive intro that details a young girl’s exile but before she can be exiled she begins to create worlds that serve as the levels for the game. As you play through levels, the background is constantly moving but it is irrelevant to the game itself and just shows off the distances you are traveling while fighting off enemy ships. While the constantly moving background can get disorientating, it can also be very entertaining to see all of the sci-fi settings you are going through.
9Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2X
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2Xis the only game in the entire series that is exclusive to a single console.Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2Xbrings together all of the levels from the first and secondTony Hawk Pro Skatergames but improves their visuals.

The control of the game matches the second game in the series with the ability to manual to extend combos. This is possibly the best way to experience the first two games in the series, though, with the remakes well on their way, that may all change.
8Blinx the Time Sweeper
Since the Xbox was the new kid on the block, they knew they would need some fresh new franchises of their own. Seeing the massive success ofSuper Mario 64and all of the games it inspired in the previous generation, they decided to make a mascot platformer.Blinx the Time Sweeperstars a cute little kitty with the ability to alter time. You can pause, rewind, and speed up time which is used in a majority of the game’s puzzles. 7Quantum Redshift
Quantum Redshiftis a futuristic, sci-fi racing game that borrows a lot from theWipeoutandF-Zeroseries of games. Each racer in the game comes from a different part of the world and has their own ship, backstory, and stats.

A unique addition toQuantum Redshiftis the ability to level up your ship between each level which is dictated by how much experience points you accumulate while racing. This game is still graphically impressive to this day with great lighting effects and highly detailed ship models that still hold up.
6Otogi 2: Immortal Warriors
Developed by FromSoftware, the creators ofDark SoulsandSekiro: Shadows Die Twice,Otogi 2: Immortal Warriorsis a third-person action game that plays a bit like theDevil May Crygames. InOtogi 2: Immortal Warriors,you have a variety of weapons, can dash around stages, and juggle enemies in the air to attempt to get big combos in over 30 levels that you explore, each with varied enemies and bosses. You can also destroy large parts of the environment which at the time really showed off the power of Microsoft’s new console.
5Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller
While the first two games were exclusive to the Sega Dreamcast,Crazy Taxi3: High Rollerwas released exclusively for the original Xbox. Included in the game are the first two cities from the two previous games as well as a brand new one created specifically for the game.
Added inCrazy Taxi 3: High Rolleris the ability to make your taxi jump which can be used to avoid traffic. Each level in the game is a parody of a real-life city in America, there is San Francisco, New York City, and Las Vegas. Each city has its own exclusive drivers with their own cars, though their stats are all the same.
4Gunvalkyrie
A spiritual successor toBurning Rangeron the Sega Saturn,Gunvalkyriebegan production as a game for theSega Dreamcastbefore moving over to the Xbox. You explore wide-open areas where plant-like aliens are everywhere.

You can dash in any direction with your jetpack while also shooting. Though the controls take some time to get used to, once you have them down, you will be dashing about and taking out enemies in quick succession. There are two playable characters in the game, a girl who is much faster, and a boy who is slower but more powerful.
3Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse
Created using the same engine as the originalHalo, Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulsehas you playing as a zombie in a futuristic 1959 filled with hover cars and robots. You use your body as a way to fight by doing things like throwing your hand on the ground and controlling it to seek out your target. To recharge the different abilities you have, you must eat brains which is done by whittling away a character’s health until you can do so. The soundtrack consists of songs from the 1950s and 60s covered by modern bands.
Crimson Skies: High Road to Revengeis a vehicular combat game that has you battling through various dog fights set in an alternate 1930s with much more sophisticated technology. you’re able to unlock different planes and upgrade the ones you already have with the money you earn by completing missions. Some missions have you fighting in helicopters, controlling gun turrets, delivering cargo, taking out enemies, or flying through treacherous environments. There is also a cheesy story with a cliche action hero and girl he is taking along for the ride.
1Panzer Dragoon Orta
Panzer Dragoon Ortais the fourth game in thePanzer Dragoonseries with the three first titles all being exclusive to the Sega Saturn.Panzer Dragoon Ortais an on-rails shooter where you control a dragon with a young girl on its back.
You can turn 360 degrees to take out enemies that approach from any and all angles. You can change your dragon’s current form which will also change the weapon you fire. New toPanzer Dragoon Ortais your dragon evolving between levels if you perform well.
