This was a big E3 for Nintendo, and they seemed dead set on delivering on fan expectations. The hype didn’t disappoint. Nintendo die-hards are ecstatic over the news of classic series getting new releases, fresh sequels, and lots of surprise content. Here are some of the highlights.
Starting with the biggest news, the next entry in theMetroidseries is long overdue and fans are geeked to seeSamus return on the Switch. The franchise goes back to its roots with a 2D game that is a direct sequel to the classicMetroid: Fusion.
It’s been a long time coming, but fans can breathe easy knowing Samus will be returning to their hands once more. The game is scheduled for an October 8 release.

Tekken’sown Kayuza Mishima will bejoining the fray as a playable character. More information, including a release date, will come soon. Expect lots of wild brawling and incredible finishing moves.

Nintendo is nailing it in the sequel department this year.Shin Megami Tensei Vis an upcoming entry in a beloved franchise that has fans foaming at the mouth.
Set in modern day Tokyo, the story will revolve around a high-school student drawn into a demonic world and will feature classic gameplay mechanics alongside a collection of new features. Nintendo released a new trailer at E3 that showcased some of the gameplay and environments. They also announced a November 12 release date.
10WarioWare Is Coming Back
The man in yellow returns, and this time he’s brought friends.WarioWare: Get It Together!will be hitting Switches on September 10, this time with some new playable characters.
Fans of the classic party game series can expect a heaping ensemble of wacky new minigames, further emphasis on co-op, and zany use of the Switch' controllers. Prepare for the hijinks!
9Mario Is Teaming Up With The Rabbids Again
One of the stranger alliances in video games is getting another entry in the series. That’s right, a sequel is coming for the 2017 game,Mario + Rabbids KingdomBattle.
The new series entry, titledMario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope,will follow a similarturn-based tactical combat structure. New areas and characters will spice things up for players, keeping the series plenty interesting. The game is scheduled for a 2o22 release on the Switch.
8Advance Wars Makes A Long-Awaited Return
Here’s another old-school Nintendo series that is long overdue for a reboot, coming to a new generation of gamers.Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Campwill be a remake of the first twoAdvance Wargames.
The new release will update the game’s graphics for the modern age ,without compromising any of the awesome strategic turn-based combat goodness. The game is scheduled for a December 3 release on the Switch.
7A Retro Zelda-Themed Handheld
Nintendo continues their practice of re-releasing old-school systems with a new flair.The Game & Watch: The Legend of Zeldasystem will includethree classicZeldagames(The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link,andThe Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening). It also includesVermin,a classic Game & Watch title that will feature Link as a playable character.

It’s always a party withMario Party!The next entry in the series will explore its origins by collecting mini games and boards from the classic games of parties past.

The Boss Battle Episodes “A New Power Awakens Parts 1 and 2” will also be included in the Switch port, giving players plenty of excitement.
