Summary

TheStar Warsfranchise currently has a bit of a cameo problem. When bringingStar Warsback for the modern age, it was only natural that Disney would want to bridge the gap by merging the legacy cast with a new one, and that worked fairly well for at least most of the sequel trilogy. But thenThe Mandaloriancame along.

The first season centered around original characters, with only a handful of references tothe widerStar Warsuniverse, but the second season quickly goes off the rails into cameo canyon, with Ahsoka showing up, Thrawn being teased, and Luke Skywalker himself making a major appearance. Since then, every Disney+Star Warsshow has relied on at least one big cameo to bring fans in, and it seems likeStar Wars Outlawscould share a similar fate.

ThoughRespawn’sStar Wars Jediseriesmainly revolves around original characters and story beats, there are still a handful of major cameos in the series, though they’re usually in service to the game’s original story. IfStar Wars Outlawsis to share the same fate, then hopefully its own cameos will be just as well-integrated and engaging, making complete logical sense within the context of the game’s narrative. And to be fair, there are a few characters that could fit the bill very well.

Star Wars Outlaws Potential Cameo - Wedge Antilles

SetbetweenStar Wars: The Empire Strikes BackandReturn of the Jedi,Star Wars Outlawsis technically free to include just about any original trilogy character it wants. Though just because it could, doesn’t mean it should. With the remaining Rebels presumably scattered to the wind following the destruction of Echo Base on Hoth, it wouldn’t really make sense for a lowly smuggler like Kay Vess to meet up with Rebel heroes like Luke Skywalker or Leia Organa. Instead, it would make much more sense for someone like Wedge Antilles to appear inStar Wars Outlaws.

One of the few named Rebel pilots who manages to actually survive the entireoriginalStar Warstrilogy, Wedge Antilles has become a fan-favorite character, and his potential cameo inStar Wars Outlawswould make a lot more sense than Luke or Leia. Players could find Wedge in the middle of a desperate attempt to scour the galaxy for more Rebel recruits, and maybe even choose to help in his fight.

Star Wars Outlaws Potential Cameo - Boba Fett (And Other Bounty Hunters)

By far the most obvious cameo forStar Wars Outlaws, and the one most likely to happen, is everyone’s favorite bounty hunter, Boba Fett. A game revolving aroundStar Wars' criminal underworld, it would make complete sense for Boba to show up at least once inStar Wars Outlaws, especially when long-term employer Jabba the Hutt is confirmed to be in the game. However, the one thing that might keep this from happening is the fact thatStar Wars Jedi: Survivoralready beatOutlawsto the punch, including its own Boba Fett cameo at the end of its bounty hunting questline.

Instead,Star Wars Outlawsmay want to include some cameos from some lesser-known bounty hunters. The Trandoshan bounty hunter Bossk is always a great pick for a secondary bounty hunter, as is IG-88. The bounty-hunting duo 4-LOM and Zuckuss are also great picks, along with Dengar, who’s made frequent appearances throughoutStar Warsmedia.

IfStar Wars Outlawswanted to go above and beyond, it could even bring Simon Pegg back to voice Dengar, a role he’s played in bothStar Wars: The Clone Warsand EA’sStar Wars Battlefront.

Star Wars Outlaws Potential Cameo - Kyle Katarn

The most unlikely potential cameo on this list, it would be great to see Kyle Katarn make a triumphant return to the canonStar Warstimeline, andStar Wars Outlawscould be the perfect opportunity for that. It’s been heavily rumored thatStar Wars Outlaws' Jaylen could actually be Kyle Katarn, wearing an almost identical outfit and looking eerily similar to hisStar Wars Jedi: Outcastcounterpart, but that hasn’t been confirmed one way or the other just yet.
