As the indie hit gameAmong Usturned five this week, the development team at Innersloth announced a new update and a new collaboration to celebrate the anniversary. The update forAmong Usbrought a few significant changes to the menus and fixed some bugs, while the partnership that was announced was received favorably by social media users.Even thoughAmong Uswas originally released in 2018, it remained relatively obscure for the first two years. However, with the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, many gamers found themselves stuck at home and finding more time to play games and watch streams of some games. After some content creators caught wind ofAmong Us, the game took up as sales skyrocketed and more players began to see what the social deduction title was all about. With adorable Crewmates and devious Imposters among the space-bound squad, players that enjoyed games such asWerewolfwere enthralled withAmong Usas it became one ofthe most successful indie games to date. The Pusheen Cosmicube costs 110 Stars to unlock, which costs $9.99, and will give players a range of accessories and costumes to earn by playing the game. Some of the skins thatAmong Usplayerscan earn include a Pusheen Pet, a full Pusheen Skin, a Cat Nap hat, and new nameplates. However, the collaboration betweenAmong Usand Pusheen will only last until Aug 06, 2025.
Along with the collaboration with Pusheen,Among Usplayers that update the game will notice a new look to the main menu when starting up. The new menu will have a window view to the right side of the screen, with all the same options now on the left. The friend list and player ID will be on the top side of the screen. In addition, players that log intoAmong Uson June 15 will receive a free cosmetic to mark the game’s actual birthday. Innersloth also stated they will celebrate by hosting a stream on itsTwitch channelon June 15, starting at 12:00 PM Pacific/3:00 PM Eastern.
Though Pusheen has collaborated with indie titles such asFall Guys, this is the first time that the adorable cat-themed brand has partnered up withAmong Us. While the game celebrates five years on the market, players will have to wait and see what elseInnersloth has in store in the future.
