One of the biggest mechanics keeping players coming back toAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsweek after week is theSow Jones Stalk Market, with which they can buy and sell turnips for potentially huge sums of Bells — the in-game currency. While actually amassing Bells is useful for paying off home loans and buying expensive goods from Nook’s Cranny, there’s also something to be said about the custom design side of the game allowing players to look like “Bellionaires” regardless of their bank account balance.
That’s where Reddit user pepperspray112 came into play on May 10 by posting their custom outfit designed to look infamous rich boy Seto Kaiba from the manga and anime seriesYu-Gi-Oh!to the r/yugioh subreddit. Though Kaiba is unable to use his signature Blue-Eyes White Dragon or Obelisk the Tormentor cards in the world ofNew Horizons, there’s something to be said for how accurately pepperspray112 captured his visage down to the angsty glare.

The designer says they weren’t able to find any Kaiba-related outfits and decided to make their own to fill the void, much like a fan who previously added aKaiba model intoSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatewith a mod editing over its DLC newcomer Joker fromPersona 5. While they feel the game could stand to have an official open cloak base for players to work with, they’re still proud of the creation and made it available to download using the code MO-L6WR-9HWW-TL9N.
That code can be utilized through a kiosk in the back of the Able Sisters' tailor shop once players unlock it. There are easily thousands of designs floating around the Internet forAnimal Crossingfans to utilize, be they objects and signs to place outdoors or outfits referencing more than justYu-Gi-Oh!, including the recentFinal Fantasy 7 Remake.
Of course, outfits and custom designs are not the only waysAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsplayers have figured out to reference other pieces of media. Some have recreated entire games within the experience, such as one player who made astop motionTetrisgifusing terraformed pathing.
While Seto Kaiba clearly continues to resonate from the originalYu-Gi-Oh!series, that franchise continues with new cards and peripheral media to this day. Its current anime series,Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens, has halted productiondue to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
