E3 2021 is rapidly approaching, but Summer Game Fest has already begun, and included among the world premieres are teasers for what gamers can expect from this weekend’s event such as moreBattlefield 2042footage.

EA won’t be at E3 in a big way like it has been in the past, but that won’t be stopping some of its games from being showcased over the weekend. During Summer Game Fest kickoff, Geoff Keighley officially confirmed thatBattlefield 2042gameplay would be shown off during the Xbox and Bethesda game showcase.

Summer Game Fest is just getting started as the Summer event takes place on various dates between now and July 22. The gaming showcase began with a kickoff full of various world premieres and official release dates and it will conclude with EA Play Live.Summer Game Fest encompasses other showcasessuch as Netflix Geeked Week on June 11, Ubisoft Forward on June 12, and Steam Next Fest on June 16. Summer Game Fest has a bit of a gap in its dates between June 23 and July 22, so more gaming showcases may be added to the lineup as it continues.

EA will be having its own EA Play Live event later this Summer, but the publisher will still have a presence across E3 weekend. EA appear a few times over the weekend, but nowBattlefieldfans are guaranteed to see more of the upcoming FPS.EA officially revealedBattlefield 2042on June 9 leading up to E3 weekend and fans can see more during the Xbox and Bethesda game showcase on June 13 at 10am PT. Keighley didn’t allude to any other EA announcements joining the Xbox and Bethesda showcase, but the existing deal between EA and Xbox could show even more EA franchises make an appearance.

Back in March, loads of EA Play content joined the Xbox Game Pass lineup, bringing with it games from theBattlefield,Dragon Age, andNeed For Speedfranchises. Considering the partnership between EA and Xbox, it isn’t shocking thatBattlefield 2042will bejoining the Xbox and Bethesda game showcase.Battlefieldfans can play almost all of theBattlefieldtitles through Xbox Game Pass and some people are speculating thatBattlefield 2042will wind up on the subscription service as well.

SeveralBattlefield 2042details have been confirmed by EAalongside the initial reveal trailer, but the Xbox and Bethesda game showcase may offerBattlefieldfans some gameplay of the multi-generational sequel. SinceBattlefield 2042won’t offer a campaign, fans of the franchise are anticipating more details about the multiplayer to be unveiled.

Battlefield 2042is releasing on October 22 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
