9React To Pregnancy Tests

It’s another seemingly small and insignificant animation, but it can add more depth and emotion to the pregnancy process. Aftertwo Sims woohoo together, a Sim with the ability to get pregnant can take a pregnancy test. Players can click on a toilet and pay 15 simoleons for a pregnancy test. The Sim just uses the toilet as normal and a notification informs the player if the Sim is expecting or not.
With the mod, players can choose Pandasama’s “Take A Pregnancy Test” interaction instead. The Sim will pull out a pregnancy stick, pee on it, and wait a brief moment before the results show. If only one line is present, the Sim is not pregnant. If two lines appear, the Sim will display a range of shocked emotions and give players plenty of opportunities for adorable screenshots.
8Accompanist Birth Partner

When the three trimesters are up, a Sim goes into labor. Where is their partner? Havinga pre-parental panic attack, likely. Then they just go about their day as if their partner is not in the next room having their child.

Once the Sim has announced their pregnancy to this person, players can find the “Ask to accompany childbirth” option under the Deep Thoughts menu in Friendly Interactions. The Sim will then play an active role in doctor’s visits and the birthing process.

Pandasama’s Childbirth Mod allows players to pump and add breast milk to their inventory. Players can search for the MilkyWay Milk Pump in Build/Buy Mode and have the Sim pump frequently to avoid sore and strained breasts.
These symptoms can be soothed with Sim Tylenol. Non-nursing Sims, or those with low milk yield, can eat lactation cookies to increase their milk production. Parents who would rather feed their babies with formula can do so by purchasing the SimLac Formula in Buy Mode. Then, they can store the milk in the refrigerator and take it out when it’s feeding time.
6Pregnancy Checkups

It’s a good idea for the pregnant Sim to keep up with their health during their pregnancy. They can call the Obstetrician and select Pregnancy Checkups to be transported to theGet To Workhospital for essential testing. Pap smears, blood work, and ultrasounds are all available in the same appointment.
Players can search for “pap smear” or “hospital bed” in Build/Buy Mode to place Pandasama’s custom hospital gear. After performing the tests, the OBGYN will contact the Sim with the results. Blood tests and pap smears can detect signs of pregnancy complications or woohoo-transmitted diseases from theRelationship & Pregnancy Overhaul Mod by Lumpinou.
5Ultrasounds & Scans
Benefit: Adds Cute Reactions And A Personalized Ultrasound Photo
While at the hospital, pregnant Sims and their partners can meet their baby for the first time in an ultrasound. Players can place the ultrasound machine from Build/Buy Mode and choose the technician to begin the process. The chosen birth partner should accompany them for the ultrasound automatically, but if they don’t, players can click on the pregnant Sim and press “Join.”
The technician will tell the Simhow many babies they’re havingand their sexes. After the scan is finished, Sims will get an ultrasound photo in their inventory. They can then show it off to their friends and family. Pandasama has shared that gender reveal parties will be coming in a future update.
4Pregnancy Interactions
Benefit: New Ways For Parents To Interact With The Baby
There are a handful of absolutely adorable new interactions that the parents can perform tointeract with each otherand their baby. Players can watch the growth of the baby bump in the mirror by clicking Check Baby Bump. The pregnant Sim can Nap Together with their partner on the couch or do a Pregnancy Cuddle on the bed. Their partner can also kiss the pregnant belly or give a Belly Hug.
The parents can also read a story to the baby while lounging on the bed together. Studies have shown the benefits of playing classical music for babies in utero, and players can give it a try themselves with the Baby Bump Headphones from Build/Buy Mode.
3Early Labor Interactions
Benefit: Adds Realistic Mood Buffs And Dilation Requirements
Immediately after going into labor, pregnantSims can attend the hospitalwith their partner, pop in the surgery machine, and the baby will appear in a nearby bassinet. The Childbirth Mod adds depth and realism to this process by implementing Early Labor interactions and mood buffs. Upon reaching the hospital, the pregnant Sim will have to wait until they are 10 centimeters dilated, which can take up to two Sim days.
Sims can ask for a dose of Pitocin, practice breathing exercises, go on a walk, or use a yoga ball to speed up the dilation process. Contraction pain and discomfort can also be eased with an epidural. Partners can help the pregnant Sim by giving them a back massage or swaying with them. After they’re fully dilated, it will be time to have the baby.
2Home Births
Benefit: New Birthing Methods From A Sim’s Home
Some Sims would rather give birth naturally from the comfort of their home without all the monitors and chemicals. The Childbirth Mod adds two different methods for a Sim to give birth at home. First, call the obstetrician and choose from the home birth options. After the Sim goes into labor, click the Sim and select Start Home Birth. Then, call the midwife to make sure the birth goes smoothly.
Purchase the Babyboom Birth Pillow and place it on the bed to offer Sims some comfort while birthing from their bedroom. The Babyboom Birth Pool can also provide levels of comfort for a Sim and their partner in labor.
1Improved Hospital Births
Benefit: Adds Cesarean Section Surgeries
The most impressive update and the biggest perk from the Childbirth Mod is the new set of animations that come with the hospital births. Before going into labor, players can call the obstetrician and opt for a natural delivery, surgery machine, or a cesarean section. After navigating through the process of early labor and the pregnant Sim is dilated, it’s time to jump into the delivery room.
For a natural delivery, players should click on the birthing table and select Give Birth. Then, they canchoose a doctor on callto assist in the birth. After pushing, the doctor will place the baby on the Sim’s chest for skin-to-skin contact before sending them home. Similarly, a Sim who has opted for a cesarean section surgery can choose an obstetrician to perform the surgery. They will change into a gown and gloves and complete a realistic surgery animation before handing the baby over to its parents.
