In both games, players find themselves stranded on a remote island with no equipment and no instructions on what to do next. As time progresses, players manage to acquire food, build basic shelters, and begin to learn about materials. However, they will soon find themselves stalked byroving cannibal tribes, and worse.
There are many ways to interact with the cannibals, beyond simply killing them. Players can in fact eat them and become a cannibal themselves, at the cost of in-game sanity. What makes the game such apsychological roller coasteris the sense of never truly being able to relax. The sound design and AI of the enemies are very sophisticated, and overall, both games are among the best survival experiences players can have.
Creepy Jar’sGreen Hellis one of the most hardcore survival games out there, withsanity and hallucinationplaying a central role in both the mechanics and the story. In addition to having to craft tools, weapons, and shelter, players must also get adequate food and sleep, all while avoiding the plethora of poisonous creatures lurking in the Amazon rainforest. On top of all this, players will also begin to hear voices and see hallucinations if their sanity gets low, making it hard to distinguish real threats from imaginary ones.
To add further psychological destabilization, the player is regularly required to drink thepsychedelic Amazonian brew, ayahuasca, in order to recall memories from their past and piece together what led them to this situation. The game has featured regular content updates since its release in 2019, and even features a standalone VR version for extreme survival enthusiasts.
