Assassin’s Creed: Unityhas been rightly lauded in recent years as being one of the better games in the franchise, offering some of the best world-building and most fluid parkour mechanics the series has ever seen. Like mostAssassin’s Creedgames, there is always more than one way to take down a target, and thanks to its 18th-century setting, players can utilize both blades and firearms as they seek torid the streets of Paris of the Templarsthat threaten the existence of the Assassin’s Brotherhood.
Once players have completed the first two sequences in the game’s main story, they will be free to explore the city and take on missions and challenges as they see fit. From this point onwards, players will also have access to various vendors throughout the city, who can offer anextensive arsenal of diverse and deadly toolsfor players to purchase with their hard-earned Florins.
10Pike Hammer
The Pike Hammer is a Long weapon with some of the best stats in its respective category. With maximum Damage and Parry, the weapon operated well in both an attacking and defensive capacity, while its considerable Range can make it a very effective weapon against groups of enemies or enemies with shorter swords.
The only drawback of the Pike Hammer is its astronomical cost of 200,000 Florins, which is worth it for having two maxed-out stats on a Long weapon, but may take players quite some time before they can afford it.
9Heavy Falchion
The Heavy Falchion is a sinister-looking blade on the end of a long pole, though it is classed as a Heavy weapon rather than Long. This means that while attacks may be noticeably slower and less fluid than some of the lighter Long weapons, the overall damage output and defensive capabilities are increased.
The Heavy Falchion has maxed out Damage and Parry stats, and relative to other Heavy weapons, its Speed and Range aren’t bad either. For 125,000 Florins, it may not be easy to come by, but wiping out groups of enemies with this menacing tool can be extremely satisfying when it has been acquired.
8Schiavona
This elegant sword boasts some of the most impressive stats in the game, but it comes at the high price of 200,000 Florins. With maxed-out Damage and Parry, as well as relatively high Speed and Range, there aren’t manyOne-Handed weaponsthat can go toe-to-toe with the Schiavona.
Unlike some other top-tier weapons, no special requirements will need to be fulfilled before players can unlock Schiavona. It can simply be bought from any merchant provided that players have enough Florins. Alternatively, the sword can be unlocked by “hacking” it for 1000 Helix Points.
7Silver-Plated Musket
Rifles can be an underrated tool when it comes to carrying out assassinations without getting caught. Of all the available Rifles, the Silver-Plated musket offers the best Damage output coupled with maximum range and maxed-out Parry stats should the player be drawn into a melee exchange.
While the musket, like any rifle from the 1700s, can take a long time to reload - the devastating output and versatility of the weapon thanks to its long range make it an extremely useful tool in any player’s arsenal. The rifle is available from any merchant for 125,000 Florins.
6Gold-Plated Pistol
Described as being the epitome of 18th-century Pistol-making, the Gold-Plated Pistol is arguably thebest Ranged weaponin the game, with a total of eight barrels capable of unleashing huge amounts of damage on enemies both near and far.
With a fast rate of fire and reload speed compared with other pistols, the Gold-Plated pistol makes for a perfect sidearm and won’t need to be replaced at all once purchased. To unlock the pistol, players must pay the hefty sum of 125,000 Florins and can purchase it from most vendors in the game.
5Cinquedeas
A civilian sword dating back to theearly days of the Italian Renaissance, the Cinquedeas is another ornate one-handed sword with impressive stats, particularly in the Damage and Parry departments, but has very high Speed and Range, especially when compared with its other one-handed counterparts.
The Cinquedeas also features as two different short-swords in bothAssassin’s Creed 2 and Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood,but this modified version is much longer and has a more pronounced hilt and groove down the center.
4The Eagle
The Eagle is the most powerful Guillotine Gun players can acquire throughout the game. To unlock it, players will need to collect every artifact in Franciade, an area explored in theDead KingsDLC. This powerful weapon, which doubles as both a mortar and a heavy axe, has the most damage and highest parry of any Guillotine Gun and has a stylish, ornamental look to it.
In addition to its powerful base stats, The Eagle also has a +25% Additional Damage modifier to both its blade and mortar blasts. While the weapon is certainly effective in certain circumstances, as a whole, Guillotine Gunscan be quite slow and cumbersomein the heat of combat.
3Ceremonial Partisan
The Ceremonial Partisan is one of the best Long weapons players can come across throughoutAssassin’s Creed: Unityand is only matched by the Pike Hammer in terms of its excellent stats, particularly the high Damage, Parry, and Range abilities.
Where this item becomes better than the Pike Hammer is the fact that it comes at almost half the cost at 125,000 Florins compared to the Pike Hammer’s 200,000. This elegantly designed weapon is perfect for taking on groups of enemies and has someawesome finishing animationsto go with it.
2Sword Of Eden
The Sword of Eden is a supernatural artifact of sorts and supposedly dates back to thevery earliest of human civilizations. Although its supernatural aura has faded, the blade is still a formidable weapon with excellent Damage and Parry, coupled with very good Speed.
To unlock the Sword of Eden, players will need to complete Arno’s memory titled “The Temple,” which serves as the final mission in the game’s main story. Unlike many purchasable weapons, there is no way for players to “hack” this item via the animus with Helix Points.
1Eagle Of Suger
The Eagle of Suger is the best realistic-looking one-handed weapon players will come across in the game. Styled after an old-fashioned longsword, this unique weapon comes with a hilt in the design of eagle wings and can blind and disorient opponents with flashes of light.
The sword boasts maximum Damage and Parry abilities, along with very high Range and exceptional Speed compared to most other weapons. The Eagle of Suger can be unlocked by completing “Suger’s Legacy” as part of theDead KingsDLC.
