ModernWarzone, known for accurately leakingCall of Dutynews, has made a big claim about newCall of Duty: Modern Warfarecontent that’s apparently in development. If ModernWarzone is to be believed,Call of Duty: Modern Warfarefans can look forward to two more Operators, three new weapons, and four new multiplayer maps. It wasn’t specified if all of this content will come at once and effectively beModern WarfareSeason 7, or if it will be spread out over time.

If ModernWarzone is to be believed, then the newCall of Duty: Modern WarfareOperators will beSoap MacTavishand Shane Sparks. It’s unclear exactly who Shane Sparks is in terms ofCall of Duty, but Soap MacTavish is the main character ofCall of Duty 4and his addition to the newModern Warfarehas been hinted at for some time.
As far as new weapons go, if ModernWarzone’s information is correct, fans can look forward to the CX-9 SMG (Skorpion), RAAL LMG, and CX-9 Pistol (Sykov). These newCall of Duty: Modern Warfareweapons should come in handy on the new multiplayer maps, which will be a mix of standard multiplayer arenas and new maps for the2v2 Gunfight game mode. According to ModernWarzone, these maps will include Al-Raab Airbase and Killhouse for 6v6 multiplayer, whereas Drainage and Townhouse will be for 2v2 Gunfight.
WithCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarSeason 1just launching, some fans may be wondering why Activision would still have substantial content on the way forModern Warfare. However,Call of Duty: Modern Warfarewas a massive hit, and there are still millions of people playing the game regularly. It may no longer have a Battle Pass tied toWarzone, but it should still have plenty of content for players to spend COD Points on.
And withActivision pulling in record numbers for microtransactions, it wouldn’t make sense for it to completely abandon its big cash cow. Even so, fans should treat all of this information with a grain of salt until an official announcement comes. It’s entirely possible that ModernWarzone’s information is inaccurate or that plans will change between now and when this content is supposedly going to be added to the game.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfareis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
