BioWare has made multiple interesting games over the years. It is mostly popular for its variety of RPGs, especially the well-known franchises ofMass EffectandDragon Age. What makes BioWare’s RPGs and other titles so loved is also theassortment of romancesthat have only seemed to have grown with each game. Some of these romances have even blossomed further through the franchises.
These love interests have included fantasy races, as well as aliens that each have unique stories which players have been able to discover through playing these various titles. Therefore, these are the BioWare games with the most romances for players to enjoy, ranked.
While four romances might not at first sound like a lot for a game, BioWare’s fantasy RPG franchise,Dragon Age,only expanded its options from there. For the player to even have four romance options in the first title gave players not only an assortment of companions for the player to get to know on a personal level but also romance options that would fall in love with the player no matter what race and class they chose.
Withoptions like Alistair or Morriganto pick from, many players struggled to truly pick who they wanted to romance, causing them to play the game all over again, even plenty of years later.
While the base game ofDragon Age 2was another title to have four romances, the DLC that was later released, calledThe Exiled Prince, addedanother interesting optionfor players, as they could fall in love with an incredibly religious man.
Dragon Age 2took away a lot of the customization that players used inOriginsas they were forced to play as a human, though this didn’t stop the romances from being as detailed, with each one of the romanceable companions having an interesting story behind them which wraps in well with their romance too.
Continuing on the theme of theDragon Agefranchise, the number of romances as mentioned only continued to grow as each game was released.Inquisitionsaw players having a total of eight romances for players to choose from. UnlikeDragon Age 2, players were once again able to choose what race they wanted to play, which meant they could now pick to be either an elf or a dwarf.
Picking a specific gender and race was important for many of the characters inDragon Age: Inquisition, as certain characters have certain preferences. This therefore increased the number of replays ofDragon Age: Inquisitionif players wanted to experience many of the other romances the game had to offer, with not all of them being companions.
Besides the popularity of BioWare’sDragon Agefranchise, another RPG created by BioWare that has countless romances for players to fall in love with isMass Effect 2. While the first title only had three choices for players, the number of heartthrobs tripled inMass Effect 2,giving players not only an assortment of humans for players to fall in love with but also aliens for those who are willing to be a little more adventurous.
Players werehappy to see romanceslike Garrus available, a companion from the previous game, as well as new options for players to get involved with.
Alternatively, BioWare created aMass Effectgame that didn’t follow the life of Shepherd after the trilogy ofMass Effectgames. Players were able to create an entirely new main character with ten interesting romances to pursue.
These new companions and crew were not only someone new to fall in love with but also included new alien races for players to get to learn. With ten romances to explore, players are sure to not only find someone that suits their tastes but also a chance to try something new the next time they playMass Effect: Andromeda.
As the supposed current conclusion to the Shepherd story,Mass Effect 3has arguably the highest number of romances in theMass Effectfranchise, with bothromances returningfrom the originalMass Effecttitle, and some romances continuing from the second game too.
Players don’t have to continue their romances from a previous game and may instead wish to get closer to somebody else they have spent the entire franchise with. Alongside the base game romances, there are also three more for players to get involved with if they so wish when accessing the DLCs that were also released forMass Effect 3.
Out of all the available romances in BioWare games, the title with a substantial number of romances that seemed to only keep getting bigger is the MMO title,Star Wars: The Old Republic. This game combines the incredible storytelling and romance of a usual BioWare title and turns it into an experience that players can enjoy with others.
With a variety of classes to choose from, each has their own story, players have multiple romance options every time they start the game again as a different class. This number has only gotten bigger with the DLCs that have also been added toStar Wars: The Old Republic, which has also given players even more romance options.
