Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarSeason 1 was originally supposed to start on December 10, but for one reason or another, plans changed. Activision has ultimately decided to delayCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarSeason 1 until December 16, at which point fans will be treated to one of the biggest content updates in the history of the franchise. In an effort to keepCall of Dutyfans engaged between now and then, the game has launched a double XP event as part of its Season 1 countdown.

Starting at 10am PT today and running until 11pm PT on December 15, theCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Wardouble XP event should prove very helpful for fans of the game. Not only will players get standard double XP from the event, but they will also get double weapon XP while the event is live. This will helpCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warplayers unlock a variety of attachmentsfor their guns in the game, which has huge implications forWarzoneas well.

For those who may not be aware,Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Waris integrating withWarzonewhen Season 1 goes live on December 16. This means that all of theCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warweapons currently available in the game will be added to the battle royale. Needless to say, it would be advantageous forCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers to level up these guns as much as possible so they can jump into Season 1 with whatever loadout they need to stay competitive.

WhenCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarSeason 1 starts on December 16,Warzonefans have much more to look forward to than just new guns. There will also be a brand new Battle Pass available, plusRebirth Island, the first new map sinceCall of Duty: Warzonelaunched this past March. Not only that, butCall of Duty: Warzoneis changing the Gulag for Season 1 as well, so fans have plenty to look forward to.

As far as the standardCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Wargoes, it’s getting plenty of new content as well. Numerous multiplayer maps will be added to the game as part of Season 1, including four maps that will be made available for the2v2 Gunfight mode. There will also be four maps for standard multiplayer, with The Pines, Nuketown ‘84 Holiday, and Raid coming to 6v6 modes, and Sanatorium coming to Fireteam.

WhileCall of Dutyfansprepare for all of the new content coming as part of Season 1, they can take advantage of double XP for the next few days.
