Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3is bringing back a classic mini-map feature that shows enemies as red dots after they fire their weapons. A previousCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3leakhad already revealed this feature’s existence, which has been seemingly confirmed by Activision.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3is the next iteration in Activision’s rebootedModern Warfaresubseries, continuing the story of last year’sModern Warfare 2. Activision recently released a trailer showcasing Makarov inModern Warfare 3, which also included glimpses of gameplay. Additionally, Activision has also confirmed that the popularslide cancel feature is returning withCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and it has now confirmed another fan-favorite feature that is making a comeback.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3will bring back the red-dot mini map feature. The 2019 reboot of theModern Warfareseries made the decision to remove this feature from the game, a controversial decision thatremained unchanged in last year’sCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2as well. However, red dots are finally returning inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

In the meantime, fans have theorized that a new version of the controversial “No Russian” mission from the 2009Modern Warfare 2could make its way to 2023’sCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. This comes via some imagery shown during the recent Makarov reveal trailer, which has also led the community to believe that he was being held in Verdansk fromWarzone 1. Additionally, a post credit scene from the 2022Modern Warfare 2teased “No Russian” and showed a group of terrorists trying to hijack a plane, which fans have also connected to the events that occurred in Verdansk.

Modern Warfare 3will also be different from the originalMW3considering General Shepherd is also alive along with Makarov. Phillip Graves, who supposedly died inModern Warfare 2also recently came back from the dead inWarzoneSeason 5, which means thatCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3could have three antagonists. Graves will also play a major role in thereveal event taking place inCall of Duty: Warzoneon July 14, 2025, which will be a set-up forModern Warfare 3.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3launches on November 10 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
