Call of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 3 is still rolling along, with new contended added every week. There’s still some content teased in theModern WarfareSeason 3 road mapthat has yet to launch in the game, including a brand new weapon that players will be able to add to their arsenal soon. Official details on this weapon remain scarce, but a reliableCall of Dutyleaker has revealed the first footage of it, and it appears to be a fan favorite weapon from pastCoDgames.
A new video by TheGamingRevolution shows footage of the upcomingCall of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 3 new weapon in action. Currently known in the game files as LM_MKILO3, TheGamingRevolution and fans online believe that the weapon is none other than the M249 SAW LMG, which was originally featured inCall of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, and then showed up inModern Warfare 2andCall of Duty: Black Ops. While it’s still possible that the gun is something other than the M249 SAW, that doesn’t seem likely at this point.

In the footage,Call of Dutyfans can see that the gun is not fully-textured or finished, so it’s unclear when exactly it will be added to the game proper. However, it’s possible that fans won’t have to wait too much longer. As pointed out by TheGamingRevolution in the video, Infinity Ward has teased abig update forModern Warfareon April 28, and so it stands to reason that the M249 SAW, or whatever the gun happens to be, could be part of that update.
If M249 SAW is coming toCall of Duty: Modern Warfarein the big April 28 update, Infinity Ward hasn’t said so. The studio did offer a sneak peek at what the update will entail, teasingGunfight variants, the return of the Shoot the Ship playlist, and bug fixes, but has made no mention of the M249 SAW.
As for what elseCall of Duty: Modern Warfarefans can expect from Season 3 moving forward, there’s still quite a bit of content on the way. Now that theRonin multiplayer operatorhas been added to the game, fans are still waiting on Iskra’s addition, not to mention new multiplayer maps Aisle 9 and Hardhat, plus Gun Game Reloaded and Reinfected Ground War. Hopefully more information on when this content will be available inCall of Duty: Modern Warfarecomes sooner rather than later.
In the meantime, it will be interesting to see how exactlyCall of Duty: Modern Warfareplayers will be able to unlock the M249 SAW. It won’t be a part of theSeason 3 Battle Passsince all of the content for that has already been revealed, so it’s likely thatModern Warfareplayers will have to complete certain challenges in the game to get their hands on the weapon. More details should become available once Infinity Ward confirms the exact date the M249 SAW will be available.
