Recently,Call of Dutyrevealed the new contentcoming with February 7’s Season 2 launch.WarzoneandModern Warfare 3’s Multiplayer are receiving plenty of additions, such as aWarzonemap, three Multiplayer 6v6 maps, and much more. Leading up to the roadmap’s reveal,Modern Warfare 3Zombies fans hoped to see a similar offering of content. Unfortunately, that turned out to not be the case.

Reddit user Wattsonmaster667 expressed his frustration by creating a post titled, “Seriously? No Zombies content at launch?” Many fans took to the comments to voice their similar disappointment atCall of Duty’s underwhelming reveal of future Zombies content. Zombies will receive no new content with the launch of Season 2, but in a mid-season update, will receive a new story mission, dark aether rift, schematics, and warlord.Call of Dutydid not specify when exactly this update will occur, but it’s likely about a month away. Zombies fans are understandably disappointed by this news, seeing that Season 2 features a previously revealed crossover event withThe Walking Dead, which some fans hoped would bring interesting new features to the game’s Zombies mode. However, at this time, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
During Season 2 on February 28,Call of Dutywill launch itsWalking Deadcrossover event.Call of Dutyhas yet to reveal exactly what the event will contain but explained that players can earn XP to unlock exclusive rewards, which will presumably be themed aroundThe Walking Dead. It seems that the event will be similar to most other ones by rewarding users with exclusive items in exchange for simply playing the game, and it will not be directly linked to Zombies. However, Zombies fans can look forward to February 7’s Horde Hunt event, which will reward players with Zombies-specific items in exchange for killing zombies and hunting down special High-Value Zombies targets.

New Zombies Content Coming Later in Call of Duty Season 2
Recently,Modern Warfare 3added a new warlord to Zombies, who, similar to other warlords, can be taken down in exchange for high-value loot. The new Dokkaebi Warlord can be found in Zaravan City at the top of a skyscraper. However, other than the new warlord, Zombies fans have not gotten much new content lately.
SomeZombies fans hope that 2024’s TreyarchCall of Dutywill treatZombies much better, followingModern Warfare 3’s inconsistent support for the popular mode. Treyarch is the original creator ofCall of Duty’s enduring zombies-themed mode, so there’s reason to hope that the nextCall of Dutywill give it more attention.
