Released in 2013,The Last Of Usis an action-adventure shooter that follows Joel and Ellie as they travel across post-apocalyptic America while fending off mutated cannibals called Clickers. After the massive success of the game, developer Naughty Dog went on to release a DLC titledThe Last Of Us: Left Behind, which served as a prequel focusing on Ellie’s backstory, and the 2020 sequelThe Last Of Us 2.At present, the popular video game has been adapted into an HBO series withPedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie.

But, as many gamers would know, even critically acclaimed games aren’t safe from bugs that are bordering on hilarious and creepy.The Last Of Usplayer Exact_Amphibian_434 recently spotted one that stretched out Ellie’s body while she was riding Callus, causing her legs to get twisted and her face disfigured. It’s a scary sight, but the player made light of it with the caption, “I hope Ellie’s alright.”
OtherThe Last Of Usfans in the comments posted their own jokes about the bug, saying that Ellie’s immunity had its drawbacks and that Ramsey wouldn’t be able to do this stunt in the show. One comment said that Ellie was taken over by tendrils, referencing the fact that theLast Of UsTV series replaced the infection-spreading spores with tendrils, which was met with mixed online reactions from longtime fans.
This isn’t the first time Ellie fell victim to a game glitch. Back in November, player Proof-Summer1011 shared a screenshot ofEllie resembling a demonwith her pitch black body and dead, empty eyes.The Last Of Usfans may not see the last of these bugs anytime soon, but they’re definitely not stopping them from replaying the game and experiencing the story’s rollercoaster of emotions all over again. One would even argue that the bugs add an entertaining element to bothThe Last Of Usgames, as long as they’re not breaking them completely.
With the HBO series officially premiering,The Last Of Usmight have a resurgence with new fans potentially picking up the game to experience it for themselves. It’s the same pattern thatCyberpunk 2077saw when it reached asales milestone after the success of its Netflix seriesCyberpunk Edgerunners. It also helps thatThe Last Of Uswill be available on PC this March, and hopefully its sequel follows suit in the future.
