Halo Infinite’s Cyber Showdown event has introduced a plethora of flashy and bright cosmetics, but not all of them have been working properly. Players wanting the crooked armor effects inHalo Infiniteto be fixed are going to have to wait a bit, as they will not be formally addressed until the start of Season 2.

From issues with the monetization in the item shop, to the limited selection of freely-attainable armor pieces, the cosmetic situation inHalo Infinitehas had a lot of issues going against it. To 343 Industries' credit, it has steadily been experimenting with these troublesome areas, likeadding individual items for sale inHalo Infinite’s shopand giving players free cosmetics through events like Cyber Showdown. Unfortunately though, even when 343 Industries does something mostly right, there are often still little things that end up souring the experience, in this case it being the armor effects from Cyber Showdown—the holographic visor and Mohawk aren’t properly aligned to Spartans' helmets.

In an update onHaloWaypoint’s forums, 343 Industries confirmsHalo Infinite’s asymmetrical armor effects won’t be fixed until Season 2. The news comes from Unyshek, the Community Manager at 343 Industries, who after speaking about some ofHalo Infinite’s other developments, addresses the unaligned Cyber Showdown Neon Screen and Neon Hawk effects. “Don’t worry though,” Unyshek starts, “we’ve busted out our levels and protractors and will get these centered when Season 2 rolls around.“Halo Infinite’s Season 1 lasts until May 2022, meaning these effects will remain crooked for at least another three months until Season 2 begins.

It is odd that theCyber Showdown cosmeticsfeatured most prominently in the event’s marketing ended up not being straight when they finally released. This event introduced a new game mode called Attrition that many players have been enjoying. Like with previous events, by completing Attrition-specific challenges, players can progress through the Cyber Showdown event pass, with every challenge completed unlocking a new cosmetic item. The event is set to conclude on January 31 so players looking to snag these rewards don’t have much time left to do so.

What is perhaps so strange about this development is thatHalo Infinite’s other armor effectsappear just fine on players' Spartans. The Judgment Mantle and Judgment Helm armor effects engulf Spartans in glorious flames and look great in use, though maybe the Helm could be moved forward just a bit. One has to wonder why a tweak like adjusting the angle of the armor effects would take three months to implement, though it likely has to do with how the effects themselves work on a per-Spartan basis.

Halo Infiniteis available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
