It is worth noting thatCyberpunk 2077’s second-place spot is purely based on the sales of physical copies, as digital copies sold are not tracked in GfK polls. With most PC downloads ofCyberpunk 2077being digital, a huge chunk of sales numbers is likely being left out. As such, the chart is mainly tracking physical copies on theconsole versions ofCyberpunk 2077, with the game selling 60 percent of the tracked physical copies on PS4 and 35 percent on the Xbox One. The remaining 5 percent were PC physical editions.

Cyberpunk 2077has surpassedWorld of Warcraft’s PC sales record. With the game also boasting the highest number of active Steam players ever active at a single time, plenty of people are going to be exploring Night City over the next several days. That said, the game’s bugs and performance issues have been heavily criticized in the press.

WithCD Projekt Red’s stock droppingfollowing discussion of the game’s issues, how well it performs going forward will be interesting to see.
