Stranger Thingsstar David Harbour has his next big movie role laid out, and this time it’s going to be in a holiday film. When he does star inViolent Night, he’s going to be joining a rather star-studded cast that is going to include John Leguizamo.

Harbour is going to be looking to take the next step inhis career afterStranger Thingscomes to an end following its final two-part season. The first part of that season is due to air on Netflix in May, and judging from the trailers, it certainly seems as though it’s going to be quite the exit. Harbour has already started on his next career path to some degree, as he’s done a few big-budget movies here and there. However, once the streaming series is finally at an end, he’ll be really moving into the next phase of what is an up and coming career.

Habour recently took the stage at CinemaCon to introduceUniversal’sViolent Night. “You better not cry, you better not pout, I’m telling you why because Santa Claus is coming to town. Let’s f—ing go,” he said.The Hollywood Reportersaid that Harbour is going to be the lead in the upcomingViolent Night, where he’ll be playing a Santa who is quite dedicated to saving a family during Christmas Eve. It actually appears that Harbour’s Santa is visiting the mansion of a family that is hardly a bunch of good boys and girls.

The publication said that the mansion is actually in themiddle of aSuccessionstyle situationwith the level of money that is situated at the home. It appears that as Christmas Eve goes on, the story moves fromSuccessiontoDie Hard-Type antics in the blink of an eye as the mansion is attacked by a band of mercenaries. It’s up to Harbour to protect the people who are inside the mansion, even if they aren’t as good, as Santa goes on the warpath and takes on the mercenaries who are being led by Leguizamo’s character.

Harbour and Leguizamo are being joined by Beverly D’Angel, the matriarch of the family at the center ofViolent Nightwho is said to make her kids fight for her affection. Alex Hassell and Alexis Louder (who last appearedinThe Tomorrow War) are also on board as the son of D’Angelo and his estranged wife, respectively. The couple is spending Christmas together despite not really enjoying each others' company in order to give their daughter a nice holiday.

Violent Nightis scheduled to be released in theaters on July 14, 2025.
