Dead by Daylight’s latest update marks the launch of the game’s 25th chapter,Resident Evil: Project W, which includes a new killer and survivors from theResident Evilfranchise.Dead by Daylight’s 6.2.0 update also includes a number of new features for streamers, makes improvements to the HUD, and implements dozens of bug fixes.

The main attraction, of course, is theResident Evil: Project Wchapter. Players who purchase the chapter gain access to several iconic characters fromtheResident Evilfranchisewith new perks and unique playstyles. One of the new survivors is Ada Wong, a recurring character seen inResident Evil 2,4, and6. Ada Wong is a resourceful spy, whose perks reflect her espionage skills. Wiretap reveals the Killer when it’s near generators she has repaired, while Low Profile hides her pools of blood to prevent tracking.Resident EvilandResident Evil Zeroplayers will recognize Rebecca Chambers, a biochemistry expert whose medical knowledge is reflected in the Better Than New perk which gives healed survivors a speed boost, and Reassurance which assists players who are caught in a struggle.
Resident Evil: Project Walso brings Albert Wesker, also known as The Mastermind, into the game as the latest playable killer.Wesker is a major recurring characterthroughout theResident Evilfranchise and is easily one of the most recognizable villains from the series. Wesker is infected with a prototype virus that gives him superhuman strength and enhanced senses, with in-game perks to match. Superior Anatomy boosts Wesker’s vault speed whenever nearby survivors perform a vault, while Awakened Awareness shows Wesker the auras of nearby survivors while he is carrying one. The Terminus perk inflicts any currently injured survivors with the Broken status once exit gates are powered.
The 6.2.0 update also includes an improvement to player ping indicators, color-coded so that yellow bars indicate ping over 100ms and red bars indicate ping over 200ms. Packet loss is also displayed, with yellow indicating 2-5% packet loss and red indicating packet loss over 5%. Players will also be notified when another player is having connection issues. A long list of minor bug fixes shows thatdeveloper Behaviour Interactiveis intent on further polishing the base game alongside adding new content.
