ADestiny 2player has shared a clip where a New Light player is seen struggling to kill a Hive Lightbearer. The Hive Guardians were added with theDestiny 2The Witch Queen DLC, and became a menacing enemy type to deal with.
The New Light experience in the game can be quite grueling considering there are a lot of aspects one must learn to even understand the basics. Bungie has tweaked its new player experience a few times over the years, with the most recent change arriving withDestiny 2’sLightfall DLC. Despite these changes, players still struggle to grasp the game at the beginning, and that is what happened to a New Light who had no clue how to defeat a Hive Guardian.

In a post on theDestiny 2subreddit, user Banres shared a clip of them helping a New Light through The Witch Queen DLC. The video showed the duo instantly melting a Hive Guardian, but the new player did not know that Lightbearer Hive enemies cannot be killed unless their Ghost is crushed. The player assisting them also did not provide any guidance on the same, which resulted in the enemy resurrecting multiple times and left the new player confused. This went on for almost two minutes before the person assisting the New Light told them to go near the Hive Guardian’s Ghost and press R3 on their controller to crush it. A user in the comments section also pointed out that the game shows a prompt to hit the finisher button once the player is near the Ghost.
Bungie isn’t stopping at just revamping its new player experience, as it is making a plethora of other changes to the game with the upcoming Season 22. For starters, it is adding anExotic mission Rotator inDestiny 2Season 22, which will bring back some of the sunset Exotic missions in the game. Additionally, it is making several Quality of Life changes, and is also planning to make the game a little more challenging.
