Summary

Destiny 2is a game that continues to evolve, as developer Bungie remains committed to ensuring its players have an enjoyable and balanced experience with the game. Unfortunately, asDestiny 2evolves, many of its best exotic armor and weapons often get left in the dust, as their abilities and perks are not updated to match such regular changes to the game’s mechanics.

Bungie already surprised players byreworking a healthy list of exotics for each classwith the launch of Season of the Wish. However, there are still several exotics that players feel the developer has neglected for a while now — and several that would benefit from a mid-season patch in Season of the Wish.

Blight Ranger from Destiny 2

Blight Ranger (Hunter Helmet)

Armor Perk: Voltaic Mirror

The Hunter exotic helmet, Blight Ranger, is notoriously known for being too niche of an exotic. Firstly, there are plenty of more viable methods of spawning Orbs of Power for the player and their allies, so at least one of Voltaic Mirror’s effects is almost useless. Secondly, with the recent buffs to other exotics like Celestial Nighthawk, which alters and improves theHunter’s Solar Super, and the season’s artifact revolving around Solar damage, there’s very little reason to run an Arc Hunter during Season of the Wish.

The Path of Burning Steps (Titan Leg Armor)

Armor Perk: Firewalker

At one time, The Path of Burning Steps was one ofthe Titan’s best exotics. Unfortunately, asDestiny 2has progressed, the once-renowned Titan leg armor has become increasingly useless. As Firewalker requires final blows to maintain, if players don’t find themselves in a situation where repeated final blows are possible, it is rendered almost entirely useless. Additionally, Season of the Wish’s seasonal artifact, the Queensfoil Censer, has mods centering around Solar damage, so it would be a perfect time to see The Path of Burning Steps get an overhaul.

Promethium Spur (Warlock Leg Armor)

Armor Perk: Embers of Light

The Warlock leg armor exotic, Promethium Spur, is quite possibly the exotic that Warlock players have cried loudest for in terms of it needing a rework. The main issue with Promethium Spur is its incredibly strict conditions, which require Warlocks to be standing in any rift while their Rift energy is full for final blows to create a dual rift at the target’s location. Reworking Promethium Spur to not require Warlocks to stand in their rift and instead simply spawn a dual rift on any Solar weapon kill would be ideal. As theSeason of the Wish artifactis Solar-focused, this would be a timely mid-season overhaul.

Whether Bungie will rework the exotics mentioned above remains to be seen, but players are holding out hope. As The Final Shape approaches,an overhaul of some ofDestiny 2’s most beloved exoticswould certainly go a long way. Nevertheless, there is at least a glimmer of hope that Bungie remains dedicated to giving its players the best experience possible, as it continues to ensure other exotics are kept up to par with the game’s latest updates.
