Summary
Destiny2features a plethora of Exotics for players to use, but every expansion and season adds a few more for players to enjoy. WhilstDestiny2continues to expand with new and old Exotics, there are still a fewDestiny1exotics left behind that have not seen a triumphant return. Plenty of amazing Exotics inDestinydeserve to return toDestiny2, even if they would need a rework, or seem a tad underpowered when compared to the current arsenal.
Most of theseDestinyExotics are beloved for their status as classic weapons in a game whereacquiring an Exotic wasn’t exactly common, and at least one of these weapons was actually exclusive to PlayStation users. Hopefully one day, these Exotics will make a return toDestiny2.
7Ice Breaker
A Sniper Rifle That Regenerates Ammo Overtime
Players will never have to worry about ammo with the Ice Breaker, as this Sniper Rifle will regenerate it over time. This comes as a blessing since players will no longer have to rely on green ammo bricks to obtain more ammo once they run out. Yet, it’s also a curse, since if players use their ammo up too quickly, they are going to be sitting around with an empty gun that has no use, since it cannot be reloaded manually, meaning they just have to wait for it to regenerate ammo.
Visually, the Ice Breaker is a lot of fun, as it looks like a chainsaw Sniper Rifle. The fact that players can combine its extremely high damage with a Solar output makes it a desirable weapon of choice, and its unique Exotic Perk definitely means it could have a home inDestiny2.
6Pocket Infinity
Fully-Automatic Fusion Rifle That Never Returned After Its First Year
A rarity among theDestinycommunity, onebeloved for its Year Onepotential. Pocket Infinity is a weapon that did not see much use outside ofDestiny’s first year, and that’s probably because of how absurdly powerful it could be. For the nostalgic, players might recall its power, showcasing how something so small and minimalist in design should not be underestimated when it comes to being a powerhouse.
The Pocket Infinity was a Fusion Rifle that could fire a rapid set of 3 shots, providing players with a fully automatic Fusion Rifle that devastates low-tier enemies and PvP players alike. Whilst the lack of ammo and the recoil is something to be concerned about, landing an entire burst will reload the magazine and further increase the fire rate, providing players with an unstoppable beast.
5Zhalo Supercell
Arc Auto Rifle That Regaiuns Ammo For Multi-Lightning-Kills
The Zhalo Supercell has seen new life inDestiny2as the Riskrunner, but that doesn’t mean the Zhalo Supercell does not have a home, especially with Arc 3.0 featuring a wide range of potential. With Zhalo Supercell, players would have an Arc Auto Rifle that would send out Arc projectiles to chain lightning attacks to enemies that were close together. When getting a double kill with Zhalo Supercell, players would also charge Super energy and return ammo to the magazine.
Auto Rifles are a great joy inDestiny2, so to see something as classic and beloved as the Zhalo Supercell return, would make many players happy. It was a great versatile weapon for PvE, but the fact that it works pretty similarly toDestiny2’s Riskrunner, means a few changes might need to be made to make it stand out once more.
4Fabian Strategy
Titan-Exclusive Auto Rifle That Received Bonus Damage For Rapid Kills
Something that would be seen as unheard of inDestiny2,Destiny1had each class receive a different and exclusive Exotic which could only be wielded for them.For Titans, they received Fabian Strategy, which wasn’t thebest Exotic Auto Rifle, but it certainly had its potential thanks to the fact that it had a predictable recoil and players could have bonus damage to it with the more kills they get, making them a death machine in PvE activities.
It was interesting to see Titan-exclusive weapons in the firstDestiny, so it would be fun to see it make a return, especially since it could now be wielded by Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks. By no means was it the best Exotic, but it’s still a nostalgic weapon that could add yet another Auto Rifle to the arsenal.
3Zen Meteor
A PlayStation Exclusive Sniper Rifle That Charged A Powerful Dynamite Shot
For a time, PlayStation users could receive an exclusive Exotic weapon just for them: the Zen Meteor. Whilst it comes as yet another Sniper Rifle, players would definitely not want to miss this one, since acquiring rapid kills with every round in a clip will load an extra shot, one that explodes and has a much higher damage output. Whilst players only have 5 seconds to fire this round, it’s going to eat enemies with Solar Damage, and potentially take them out for good.
The Dynamite bullet from Zen Meteor was amazing, and could easily take outhordes of enemies, or delete single big enemies. Whilst it’s a good thing that console-specific Exotics are no longer inDestiny2, bringing back the Zen Meteor for all would add further enjoyment to the Exotic Sniper Rifles.
2Fate of All Fools
A One-of-a-Kind Scout Rifle That Grants Bonus Damage On Precision Hits
The Fate of All Fools is an Exotic Scout Rifle that acts as the rarest thing inDestinyhistory. Fate of All Fools was an Exotic given to just one player, a super fan who had cancer. Player Trifecta01received this rare bounty as a gift from Bungie whilst recovering from brain surgery, and it’s safe to say that this weapon received plenty of use for its rarity. Whilst the format of the gun was later added to all players as The Jade Rabbit, to see it return would be great for the legacy ofDestiny’s history with fans.
As far as Exotic Perks go, the Fate of All Fools was pretty good and allowed for players to chain body shots to gain bonus damage on their next precision shot, which will also return ammo to the magazine. Whilst it looks identical to the No Time to Explain Pulse Rifle, its behavior as a Scout Rifle is completely different, and a desirable rarity indeed.
1Tlaloc
Warlock-Exclusive Scout Rifle That Sees Better Stats When A Super Is Charged
Another class-exclusive weapon, Tlaloc was for the Warlocks, and it definitely aided in their play style. Kills with Tlaloc would reduce the cooldown of their grenades, and when players fully charged their Super, they would enjoy better handling, rate of fire, and stability. Charging a Super and keeping it for later use whilst they enjoyed a faster-firing Exotic Scout Rifle was a great thing to have, especially when Warlocks only really used their Supers as support in endgame content.
Returning Tlaloc would be great, as although it certainly wouldn’t bea top contenderfor endgame content, it could definitely have its uses as an ad-clearing support weapon, or something that hits hard and fast in PvP.
