Diablo 4is filled with various activities for players to get involved in apart from the main story. One of these activities is the completion of dungeons that are scattered across the map of Sanctuary. Players can complete these locations alone or with a group of friends, where they will likely be rewarded with an aspect that can further upgrade a player’s build.

Arguably, some of these dungeons are easier than others to complete. Additionally, some offerbetter aspectsthat can improve a wide range of classes. These are the dungeons players should consider completing first when they start their adventure inDiablo 4.
Updated July 25, 2025, by Megan Smith:Since its original release on the 5th of June this year,Diablo 4has now entered its first season, the Season of the Malignant. During this season players have been tasked with collecting hearts that work similarly to gems where it gives buffs. Besides this, new metas have been introduced to the title with players seeking different Aspects or other dungeons to explore. Although many players may have finished the campaign by now which allows them to fast travel to almost any main city, these are still some of the easiest dungeons inDiablo 4players should be completing first.

13Penitent Cairns – Barbarian
Players are unlikely to find aDiablo 4dungeon that is more straightforward than Penitent Cairns. This makes it not only great for beginners but also an easy dungeon to get through quickly when looking for enemies to grind.
All players are required to do in this dungeon is free prisoners. Once all these people have been freed and the enemies along the way have been dealt with, they’ll finally get to face the final boss of a Resurrected Malice. After completing the dungeon players will earn the Death Wish Aspect for Barbarians that allows the player to gain Thorns while Berserking.

12Lost Archives – All Classes
Lost Archives is a dungeon that is open to everyone, though players that chose Sorcerer are more likely than most to visit there due totheir class quest. Those that aren’t focusing on the quest will have a straightforward time dealing with a Demonic Vanguard and finding two objects to mount on podiums to open the inner door.
After completing this dungeon, players will unlock the Aspect of Protector. Unlike the other dungeons, the aspect available in the Lost Archives can be used by any class. It grants the player a barrier when damaging an Elite.

11Rimescar Cavern – Necromancer
Many of the dungeons in the region of Fractured Peaks are quite easy to complete, in the hope of encouraging players to take part in dungeons. While Rimescar Cavern can be found in this starting region, it does pose a slight challenge to it. This is because players will first need to complete a Stronghold to access it, and these pose their own challenges.

After completing Rimescar, players that havechosen Necromancerwill be in for a treat, as they earn the Aspect of Plunging Darkness. Granting this aspect to the player’s gear allows them to spawn pools of Blight for 6 seconds every time they use Bone Prison.
10Maulwood – Barbarian
Maulwood is another challenging dungeon, though it contains no boss at the end. Players are tasked with defeating various enemies across the forest. Wood Wraiths are among the most difficult enemies of the dungeon; although they move slowly, their hits are deadly. Maulwood is also one of few dungeons to not take part in a building or underground, due to its forest setting.
After defeating the three main targets, players will be rewarded with the Slaking Aspect. Barbarians can use this to get a 30% chance of gaining twenty fury when Rend deals damage to a bleeding enemy.

9Hoarfrost Demise – Necromancer
Hoarfrost Demise is one ofDiablo 4’sbest dungeons of the game if the player has chosen to play as a Necromancer. This is because once it is completed, players will earn the Aspect Blood-Bathed. This Aspect allows a player’s Blood Surge echo to strike again, although it does do less damage the second time.
Unfortunately like Maulwood, Hoarfrost Demis is one of the longer dungeons in the game. Players must search for three Skeletal Constructs before taking on a Khazra Abomination at the end. The length of this battle is worth it in the end.

8Sanguine Chapel – Rogue
Compared to theother classes available, Rogues appear to have a lacking number of dungeons in the first region ofDiablo 4. The first dungeon they will want to visit for their own Aspect is the Sanguine Chapel.
Thankfully, this dungeon is another straightforward one. Players deliver boxes once again to pedestals before taking on a boss at the end. At the end, players will find themselves with the Energizing Aspect. With this, players can generate three Energy when damaging an Elite foe with a basic skill.

7Tormented Ruins – Druid
While Tormented Ruins isn’t a difficult dungeon, many players may feel this is one of the longest of the first region. Players will need to explore the Tormented Ruins to find an Elite foe, who holds the key to allow them to go even deeper. From there, players explore further to take on a final boss all while defeating hordes of enemies.

After dealing the killing blow, those that chose toplay as the Druid classwill receive the Aspect of the Unsatiated. With this Aspect equipped, players who kill an enemy with Shred will have their next werewolf skill generate more Spirit and deal more damage.
6Black Asylum – Necromancer
Another straightforward and easy first dungeon players should complete – especially for Necromancers – is Black Asylum. This straightforward dungeon simply encourages the player to defeat all the undead that lurk throughout the Asylum. Unlike the other dungeons, this can be completed quickly with the right build.
Once they have slain all the undead, players will finally have the Aspect of Torment. This is anincredibly useful Aspectfor players that use Bone skills, as critical strikes with them increases the regeneration of Essence by 20%.

5Stockades – Druid
Found in Scosglen, players will need to progress into the second act of the game before they can enter this simple dungeon. Players must first locate a key to proceed into the next area to collect Animus before finally taking on the boss of the dungeon.
In the Stockades players will have to face another Resurrected Malice before finally getting their hands on the Crashstone Aspect for their Druid. With this Aspect equipped the player’s Earth skills will do a large percentage more critical damage to enemies they have crowd controlled.

4Hallowed Ossuary – Barbarian
Hallowed Ossuary has one of the best early game side quests, asplayers explorean incredible vampire tale. Players are tasked with killing enemies, but with a twist. Some will drop Animus, which is needed to open a door and meet the final boss.
Barbarians are in for another treat, as this dungeon gives them the Aspect of Unrelenting Fury. When killing an enemy with a core skill, this aspect refunds 10% of its base fury cost.
