A Reddit user known as Shalzuth shared a screenshot featuring a DPS meter forDiablo 4. This tool shows the exact amount of damage done by each spell to help players better understand their build and rotation. It may provide additional information for players about their attacks, especially considering that someDiablo 4players manage to deal an absurd amount of damagewith some classes. On top of this damage meter, Shalzuth added a training dummy to test their attacks in a dedicated location called The Training Grounds. In their Reddit post, Shalzuth wonders whether a damage meter would be beneficial inDiablo 4as in other games likeWorld of Warcraft.

A DPS Meter in Diablo 4 May Not Be Such a Good Idea

However, the introduction of a damage meter inDiablo 4may not be such a good idea. Blizzard’s ARPG relies not only on damage to defeat the hardest foes but also on survivability, especially in nightmare dungeons and to defeat themost challenging bosses like Uber Lilith. Moreover, while a damage meter could help players maximize their build and rotation, it could also create a toxic environment where the most elitist players would judge those with smaller damage output, no matter how well they perform otherwise.

To provide additional information to players about their damage without creating a toxic environment, some players suggested that Blizzard add training dummies in majorDiablo 4cities. These training dummies could show the damage they receive, helping players figure out which spells work best for their class. This would also require Blizzard to include the damage from thorns, as they are critical in someDiablo 4druid builds. While Blizzard hasn’t yet commented on the topic, players are eagerly awaiting therelease ofDiablo 4’s expansionVessel of Hatredto see the new features that could join the game alongside the new Spiritborn class.
