While it has yet to be officially announced, credible sources have said thatCapcom is actively developing aResident Evil 4remake, which is supposedly aiming for a 2022 release date. Many fans reacted to this news with elation, but many others are upset that Capcom has apparently decided to pursue aResident Evil 4remake instead of remaking one of its other, older games. This includesDino Crisisfans, who went to social media to vent their frustrations.

As far as video game remakes go, it seems one of the most-wanted is aDino Crisisremake. Fans have been asking for one for years, but Capcom seems content on mainly just remaking itsResident Evilgames instead. The originalDino Crisisis considered by many to be a survival-horror classic, and the fact that it’s only available on legacy platforms has upset fans who want to see the game revived with modern graphics and gameplay.

The fact that Capcom has seemingly decided to remakeResident Evil 4over producing aDino Crisisremakehas especially upset fans, asResident Evil 4is readily available on modern platforms. In fact, Capcom has re-releasedResident Evil 4on virtually every video game platform imaginable, from iOS mobile devices to the Nintendo Switch. Not only that, butResident Evil 4is one of the most critically-acclaimed games of all time, and it’s hard for fans to see how it could possibly be improved by a remake.

TheResident Evil 4remake has upset more than justDino Crisisfans, though. Others are irritated that Capcom is not doing aCode: Veronicaremake, asCode: Veronicais the next step in theResident Evilseries story afterResident Evil 3, and the game could arguably benefit much more from a remake thanRE4.

However, just because Capcom is going with aResident Evil 4remake first, assuming the reports are accurate, it doesn’t mean that other remakes aren’t in the cards as well. Capcom indicated years ago that remakes and remasters would be a central part of its business strategy moving forward. More recently, Capcom released a survey asking fans if they want moreResident Evilremakes, so one has to imagine that there will be moreREremakes at the very least, even ifDino Crisisis left behind.

Dino Crisisis available for Dreamcast, PlayStation, and PC.
