Disney Dreamlight Valley’s A Rift in Timeexpansion introduces an all-new Royal Tool, theRoyal Hourglass. This powerful scepter is capable of bending time itself to procure ancient artifacts that players can use in an assortment of new crafting recipes. Players will also require these materials to upgrade their standard tools to handle new obstacles and collect items in the expansion’s new region, Eternity Isle.

However, the core functionality of these tools remains unchanged inA Rift in Time. Players will still rely on each of their Royal Tools to perform the same activities they did back in the Valley, includingFishing, Gardening, Digging, and Mining. Eternity Isle’s three biomes each feature four areas which are unlocked usingMist, a new form of currencyearned by completing duties and collected using the Royal Hourglass.

Within these new areas, players can discover all new ingredients and crafting materials, including new gemstones. Blue Zircon, and its rarer Shiny variation, are among these new additions in the expansion. Here’s where players can find these gemstones inDisney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time.

Where to Find Blue Zircon & Shiny Blue Zircon

Blue ZirconandShiny Blue Zirconare exclusively obtained via mining inThe Lagoonarea of theWild Tanglebiome. Players will encounter mineral veins throughout each of the biome’s four areas. However, Blue Zircon and Shiny Blue Zircon are found only in those located within The Lagoon.

The Wild Tangle, alongside the Glittering Dunes, is unlocked upon completing the quest “The Sands In The Hourglass.” This grants players access to the biome’s first area, The Grasslands. To access The Lagoon in the Wild Tangle, players must first remove the barrier to The Grove area using Mist. The Lagoon is the most expensive area of the Wild Tangle to unlock, and to access these areas the player must spend the following amounts:

Mining Blue Zircon in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Once unlocked, players will gain access to rare materials exclusive to this area, including Blue Zircon andPiranha, and can also find and befriend two exclusive Capybara: Gray Spotted Capybara and Red and White Striped Capybara. The player will need to locate these little guys and take their photos with Mirabel to complete the quest, “A Letter for Antonio,” giving players even more reason to unlock this area.

As with all such gemstone variants, Shiny Blue Zircon is significantly rarer than Blue Zircon. While these gems will sell for more Star Coins at Goofy’s Stall, players may wish to hold onto them, as there are much easier ways toearn Star Coins.

What are Blue Zircon & Shiny Blue Zircon Used For

Blue Zircon is used in an assortment of crafting recipes inDisney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time, typically to introduce its beautiful blue color to furniture. Shiny Blue Zircon, however, do not currently have a use other than being sold at Goofy’s Stall for 2000 Star Coins. Again, though, this isn’t recommended as they may have use in a future update, and it’s far easier to earn money by sellingprepared meals.
