Popular YouTube streamer Dr Disrespect claimed in a recent live stream to have insider knowledge onHalo Infinite’s potential battle royale mode. While it hasn’t been officially confirmed whether or not the game will offer a battle royale mode, the streamer reports thatHalo Infinitewill offer a highly optimized battle royale experience for 300 players.
Halo Infinite’s technical preview might be delayedthanks to multiplayer issues, but that didn’t stop Dr Disrespect from talking about it during a stream with Z_Laner on Twitch. There, Dr Disrespect stated that he was hoping to go straight into a battle royale game. When this statement was received with laughter, he went on to explain what he allegedly knew about the mode in question.

According to Dr Disrespect,Halo Infinite’s battle royale mode will allow for 300 players, set loop, and feature power weapons on the map. The map itself will be designed around power weapons, locations, and points of interest, all of it apparently well optimized.Dr Disrespect has expressed interest in making his own battle royalegame, which suggests that he knows his stuff on the subject. However, Dr Disrespect is also well known for blending fantasy and reality on his streams, sometimes just to troll fans, so it’s uncertain how much of this information is actually true.
Dr Disrespect went so far as to reference the battle royale mode’s first technical Alpha test, stating that if it was anything to go by, the end result would be spectacular. However, the lack of confirmation from developers suggests thatHalo Infinitemay not have a battle royale mode. If this is the case, then the streamer is likely just messing with his viewers. The lack of available information may make it difficult for fans to lean one way or another.
As of writing, fans appear split on Dr Disrespect’s claims. One Twitter user argued that 300 players seems like too high a number for a battle royale mode, while another countered that it would be doable with a huge open-world map and a longer game. Reportedly,Halo Infiniteis planned to be a 10 year game, so a battle royale mode could be coming in the future.
Voice files that appear to be taken from a battle royale mode’s announcer have been uncovered in the game’s code, which could imply that the developers are already working on the mode.
