Dragon Ball Z: Kakarothas been in a weird place for a while, as most fans have already beaten the game and done almost all of what there is to do. Because of this, attention is turned to the season pass, which has remained rather puzzling since its release. For those unaware,Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s season pass is said to contain two original story episodes and one new story arc, but since launch, it has been very unclear what that actually means. The result is that there are many fans that own the season pass but still, three months later, have no idea what it actually is. Bandai Namco has rectified this to an extent by revealing thatKakarot’s first DLC will feature Beerus, Whis, and a new training mode which allows players to unlock the Super Saiyan God form for Goku and Vegeta, but there is still so much fans don’t know.

Borderlands 3 DLC Roadmaps
In contrast toDragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s tight lipped approach to its DLC,Borderlands 3has been letting fans know what to expect since the game launched in September of 2019. For each month, Gearbox Software has succinctly laid out exactly what it is fans can expect, and it has also been incredibly generous in terms of post game support, providing some kind of new content almost every month, mostly for free. It’s no wonder thatDragon Ball Z: Kakarotfans are jealous of this approach, as while a little bit ofmystery surrounding the season pass can be exciting, it’s high time more information is revealed.
That said, it’s not likeBorderlands 3spoils its DLC contentby doing this, as fans still don’t know exactly what a DLC will be like just based on the name, but the added level of clarity is very nice. Compare this toDragon Ball Z: Kakarot, for which devs have spoken up very little about the future of the game, and the contrast is easy to see. Most of the information known came fromDragon Ball Z: KakarotDLC leaks by third parties and weren’t even actually officially announced till much later.

At this point, being open in communication with players is the best bet for developers, as many are starting to lose the sense of wonder that came with the game’s initial release but anticipation for additional content is at an all time high. Nonetheless,Dragon Ball Z: Kakarotwas extremely successful, and for now fans should just place their trust in developers that they won’t go awry with the DLC content given that they did such a great job with the base game.
