Hoarah Loux is one of the hardest bosses featured inElden Ring, so this player’s sacrifice was an incredible way of keeping their ally in the game.
There are over 70 different bosses featured inElden Ring, with some of themost notable bosses being Maleniaand the aforementioned Hoarah Loux. Many of these bosses feature powerful attacks that do massive amounts of damage, and in a lot of cases these attacks can instantly kill players who aren’t prepared. One player was almost caught in one such attack, but was saved by their cooperative ally and given a second chance at continuing the fight.

Reddit user HemmingwayBells21121 went online to share a clip of their attempt at defeating Hoarah Loux, but as they were going to heal themselves the boss started the wind up to his power bomb attack. His cooperative friend jumped in front of the grabbing attack, sacrificing himself in an amazing way to allow his ally a chance to heal. While it’s not uncommon for friends to help each other out duringElden Ring’s various boss fights, a straight-up sacrifice like the one HemmingwayBells21121 shared online is quite rare.
One commenter on HemmingwayBells21121’s post states that “Thy sacrifice befits a crown,” a reference to a quote that Hoarah Loux says when the player eventually defeats him in battle. Another commenter brought up the cooperative companion’sElden Ringbuild, noting that “the other guy is built for tanking with that bull goat set. He was trying to get the aggro on him and save the dps.” The overall reception in the comment section of the video is supportive of the player’s attempt to save his cooperative friend, with many jokingly referring to the amazing sacrifice as the actions of a hero.
Elden Ringis full of difficult boss fights that challenge players, with or without the help of a cooperative companion. While having another player fighting alongside you can help when facingincredibly difficult FromSoftware bosses, it’s incredibly rare for another player to actively sacrifice themselves in an attempt to save another. HemmingwayBells21121 lucked out with his cooperative ally, who amazingly jumped in front of Hoarah Loux in an effort to keep his ally alive, even if it meant sacrificing himself.
