In the months since the launch ofElden Ring, players have discovered a lot of hidden details within the game. During the first several days ofElden Ring’srelease, the discovery of these secrets was mostly diegetic, given the lack of information aboutElden Ringposted online. While plenty of helpful information has been made available to players through various websites since that time, gamers will soon have the opportunity to learn aboutElden Ringthrough much more tangible means.

Most major AAA releases tend to always be accompanied by a strategy guide book released separately, andFromSoftware gamesare no exception to this. FromBloodbornetoDark Souls 3toSekiro: Shadows Die Twice, each FromSoftware release has featured an in-depth strategy guide. Now, it seems thatElden Ringwill be receiving the same treatment in just over a month.

Over on IGN, it was officially announced thatElden Ringwill be receiving a two-part strategy guide book series, with the first volume covering the overworld, the various NPCs that populate the world, and the basic mechanics ofElden Ring. The second volume will explain in finer detail how the combat mechanics work, as well as the multitude of weapons and enemies that players can encounter throughout the experience.

It’s important to note that while these strategy guide books likely won’t do anything to offsetthe difficulty ofElden Ring, they will definitely give new players, in particular, a litany of advantages. Whether players are having trouble unlocking different pieces ofElden Ring’smap or figuring out where certain bosses or items or equipment are located, these guide books will prove to be quite handy.

Another thing that players could definitely benefit from with these strategy guides is a more intimate understanding of the lore ofElden Ring. Even longtime fans of FromSoftware titles may have a hard time understandingthe story ofElden Ring, and therefore, the strategy guides will also contain extensive explanations of the various areas and characters that populate the Lands Between.

It’s nice to seeElden Ringreceive additional content in a physical capacity. It’s likely that even hardcore fans of FromSoftware andElden Ringwill pick these guide books up, even if they don’t have any practical use for them. However, if anyDLC forElden Ringever gets released then these guide books wouldn’t likely contain any helpful information in that regard.

Elden Ringis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
