Elden Ringis the latest game in developer FromSoftware’s series of extremely difficult fantasy RPGs. WhileElden Ringdoes follow a certain formula that has been set out by theDark Soulstrilogy andBloodborne, it also builds upon certain mechanics and adds new elements for players to enjoy. There’sthe open-world ofElden Ring, which is perhaps the most obvious change made from previous From Software games, as it allows the player to forge their own path in terms of how they want to play. This lets players walk right up to some of the most difficult bosses in the game, or farm for hours until they faceElden Ring’sfirst boss.
Another fairly new element of gameplay is the way stealth is integrated inElden Ring. Stealth was a major feature of From Software’s recently releasedSekiro: Shadows Die Twice, yet where stealth is a priority in that game,Elden Ringoffers more optional stealth mechanics. With many builds to make andclasses to choose from inElden Ring, it is entirely possible to skip the stealth mechanics, instead opting for a bolder style of combat.

However, as Reddit user Horrey92 shows, the stealth mechanics inElden Ringcan offer some of the strangest and funniest moments in the game. In a short clip, theElden Ringplayer walks into a room where there is one patrolling enemy. Without being spotted, the player announces their entry in one of the loudest ways possible by rolling through and destroying the table in the center of the room. The enemy and player then share a stare before the former goes back to his business.
This then leads to the hilarious finale of the clip where the player manages to pull off a backstab on the enemy who had just spotted them a moment ago. Other players were quick to share their similar experiences inElden Ring, with one claiming that their favorite moment in the game is when the AI spots the player and just stares at them for a few seconds before obliterating the player or getting obliterated themselves. Another comment simply said “must’ve been the wind,” making a reference to a famous line found inSkyrimwhen an enemy fails to spot a player in stealth.
Despite having some seriously difficult combat and a serious tone, plenty ofElden Ringplayers are managing to create some hilarious moments in the game. Besides abusing the stealth mechanics available, players have even created methods into fooling other players. Another funny clip shows a playeravoiding an invasion by impersonating one ofElden Ring’smany NPCs.
Elden Ringis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
