Now only a week shy from its premiere,Eternalsis having to fight off a threat far more menacing than the Deviants or Celestials: movie critics. That is because negative reviews continue to pile on to officially makeEternalsthe worst-rated MCU film on Rotten Tomatoes.
As the first wave of early impressions started rolling in,Eternalshas found itself to be perhaps the most divisive title put out by Marvel Studios, with critics mostly being left to praise visual scenery and acting performances in a movie that’s otherwise lacking in other areas.The most prominent fault inEternalsappears to be its struggle to establish a large cast within a plot that is supposed to be just as big and world-threatening as any other MCU flick.

All of this has causedEternalsto slide from a 74% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, to hit an all-time Marvel low of 63% that puts the movie just belowThe Incredible Hulk(67%) andThor: The Dark World(66%).
