The Falcon and the Winter Soldierwill follow the dysfunctional partnership of Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes as they deal with the aftermath of Steve Rogers’s departure and how to carry on the legacy of Captain America. Fans have already started buzzing about various aspects of the show, fromHelmut Zemo’s planto the mysterious new Captain America to rumors of other MCU characters making appearances. While St-Pierre’s comments seem to suggest a mystery element at the center of the story, he went on the admit that he was told little about the overall series and is only aware of his own part in it.
From the first episode, fans attempted to dissect every aspect ofWandaVisionfor clues of any big reveals to come. Some popular theories suggested there would be a cameo from Doctor Strange, anappearance by Fantastic Four’s Reed Richardsor the X-Men, or perhaps the villainous Mephisto was hiding in plain sight. Most of these theories proved false, leading to a divided reaction to the finale.
Fans of the MCU have always been passionate when it comes to speculation, especially about how each project will tie into the larger MCU story and set up future projects. That sort of involvement from fans can be fun, butWandaVisionshowed theproblem of when speculation leads to expectation. WhileThe Falcon and the Winter Soldierwill no doubt inspire sleuthing from fans, it’s hard to imagine it will match what happened withWandaVision. It appears to be a much more straightforward action story compared toWandaVision’s slow-burn mystery. But fans won’t have to wait much longer for the show and its secrets to start getting revealed.
