The Castle is aFallout 4Settlement location that players will encounter reasonably early in their gameplay. Also known as Fort Independence, The Castle is overrun byFallout 4Mirelurks when players arrive. Before it was taken over by the mutated Boston wildlife, The Castle was the headquarters for theFallout 4Minutemen faction. To unlock The Castle asaFallout 4Settlement, players must defeat the hostile enemies and build a radio tower. With the Minutemen being a key faction ofFallout 4, this player has restored its glory with an incredible makeover.

Reddit user Sirbalz recently shared a screenshot of their version ofFallout 4’s Castle. Beyond the impressive Settlement itself, there are twoFallout 4Vertibirdsin the foreground that can be used for scale. Located on the Boston coast, the pentagonal shape of The Castle is hidden in Sirbalz’s Settlement. There are several layers to Sirbalz’sFallout 4Castle design, with a central pillar visible from a great distance. Each point to The Castle includes a tall tower that nearly measures up to the middle at its peak. Atop one of these tall structures is a third Vertibird that seems to be a permanent fixture unlike the other two.
Because the towers from Sirbalz’s build aren’t among the prefabricatedFallout 4build options, they seemingly created each one individually. Outside The Castle are food and other resources necessary forFallout 4Minutemensettlers, while the inside has a workshop on the bottom level. Only the standard Castle floors can be accessed without a flight cheat. Given that mostFallout 4bases don’t reach as high as Sirbalz’s Castle, it’s likely taller than the structures that Bethesda intended for Settlements. While Sirbalz only references a mod that removes settlement building limits and Place Everywhere, they suggested that many more were required to make their base.
Given that Sirbalz didn’t elaborate on how many materials the makeover required, they may have used a mod for the necessary items as well. According to Sirbalz, The Castle makeover took exactly 24 hours to complete. BecauseFallout 4console commandscan make Settlement building easier, the process may be made even simpler.
