Fallout 76has gained a second wind following the wildly successfulFalloutTV show. It’s even gone so far as to have the mostconcurrent players ever since its initial release. Many players are visiting the Appalachia wasteland for the first time. Even returning players can expect many new improvements and loads of content after the game’s many patches.
One of these improvements is the Shelters that players can make. You can make a cozy home underneath the harsh and unforgiving wasteland. Shelters act as separate underground bunkers that you can customize separately from your above-ground CAMP. This means power and other resources are treated separately. Your CAMP can be a defensive fortress, while your Shelter can be a fun clubhouse for yourteam of Vault Dwellers. Here is where you can acquire a Shelter and how to build one in your CAMP.

How to Get a Shelter in Fallout 76
Trigger Home Expansion Quest
The easiest way to get a Shelter is by picking up theHome Expansionmiscellaneous quest. Simply read any Shelter posters around the wasteland to get the Find the Claim Center quest and map marker. Train stations throughout Appalachia have posters all over the walls, which you can read to trigger new quests. You can also findReuben’s safe keyon the corpse in theisolated cabindown the road from Vault 76. This will give you theFind Out What The Key Unlocksmisc quest which leads to the same area.
Find the Claim Center
The Claim Center is to thenorthwestof Vault 76. Follow the road up the mountain. The enemies will only be some feral ghouls and scorched that are barely a threat.
The quest marker will guide you tothe locked entrance ofVault 51.Enter the utilityhatchin front of the vault door instead.

Speak to the robot Mr. Clark. He will tell you to register your claim at the computer terminal. Register and speak to him again. He will thank you for the visit and vaguely explain how to use your new Shelter.
How to Build a Shelter
All you need to build the Shelter is some concrete and steel.Open your build menuat your CAMP. Cycle through the tabs until you reach the Shelters tab. Build theVault Utility Room Entrance.Once you’ve placed the entrance you can step inside to your new Shelter. Building more entrances will still lead to the same Shelter. If you want to build your own expansive vault, you will have to purchase more Shelter rooms in the Atomic Shop to complete it.
