Fallout: Londonwas originally announced back in 2021by Team FOLON, a non-profit group of both amateur and professional developers from all over the world. Set in a post-apocalyptic version of London in 2237,Fallout: London’s story unfolds between the two first games in the franchise, and it imagines how the British capital was affected by the nuclear war.
Now, Team FOLON has announced thatFallout: Londonwill be out on St. George’s Day, June 27, 2025. The creators also unveiled a launch trailer of theFallout 4mod, which shows many well-known places in London such as Big Ben and Buckingham Palace in their post-apocalyptic versions. According to the developers, the mod is already “content-complete” at the moment, but the release was pushed back to allow for a longer testing period. Many members of Team FOLON come from countries affected by conflicts, and this directly affected the development ofFallout: London.
When Will Fallout: London Be Released?
One of the goals of the developers in not setting the game in America is to be able to explore new cultures, as well as pre-war European history.Fallout: Londonwill have entirely new factions, such as the Fifth Column, Camelot, Tommies, and London’s Gentry, which are all part of a fresh take on the franchise’s lore.
Fallout: Londonis set to be DLC-sized, according to its creators, having several hours of gameplay. While its main story will not likely be as long as Bethesda’s game, it will feature quite a large landmass, which is comparable to the ones in the expansions ofFallout 4. As a comparison,Fallout 4’s Far Harbor DLC takes around 30 minutes to walk across, so gamers can expect London to be huge and filled with interesting details.
The release ofFallout: Londonis perfectly aligned with the one forAmazon Studios’FalloutTV show. The series will be out by July 09, 2025, two weeks before the mod. While Amazon’s series will be set in 2296 and in the United States, it’ll likely generate some interest in the mod, as its existence may bring more players toFallout 4or give long-time fans the urge to replay the game.
