One fan’s (m.design34) pick to become the Joker is no stranger to acting oppositeThe Batmanstar Robert Pattinson. Their casting places Stewart in the cunning role. The idea is complete with a photo of Stewart as the Joker adapted fromher newest filmSpencer. In the photo, Stewart’s hair is a vibrant shade of green, as are her eyes. Her face and hands have turned a sickly shade of white, matching the white paint often worn by the Joker. To complete the look, Stewart has the signature red smile smeared across her lips. Complimenting this is the wardrobe choice of a purple jacket and white shirt, along with a smiling tattoo below the knuckles of her left hand.

From 2008 to 2012, Pattinson and Stewart shared the screen for the five movies that make uptheTwilightcollection. Stewart played the lead character Bella Swan, who finds herself intrigued by the mysterious Edward Cullen, played by Pattinson. Throughout the series, the two go through a number of ups and downs, often spurred by the love triangle that Bella has found herself in. Since the completion of this series, both Pattinson and Stewart have gone on to receive critical acclaim for some of the roles they have landed.

Pattinson’s latest crucial casting isThe Batman, where he will be joined by the likes ofPaul Dano as the Riddler, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, and Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, some of Gotham’s most cunning villains. Stewart has begun to receive attention for her performance as Princess Diana in the biopicSpencer. Should the two of them share the screen again, it would be much different than their time inTwilight.

Much like the casting for any Batman adaptation, the Joker is a role that becomes tricker to cast with each passing year. The performances given by Leger inThe Dark Knightand Phoenix (who won an Academy Award for his performance) inJoker, are tough acts to follow. Therefore, whoever does end up joining Pattinson’s franchise as the Joker will have to follow in the footsteps of others who have played the role and bring something brand new to the table. It could be possible for DC to shake up the mold and cast its first female Joker.

The Batmanpremieres in theaters on June 16, 2025.
