Firearms seem like things that don’t belong in the fantastical world of Hydaelyn, but it seems guns have become just as common as swords and magic inFinal Fantasy 14.In thisFinal FantasyMMO, firearms have become one of the staple forms of weaponry that players - particularly the Machinist - could use for their characters to start dominating combat from long range. And while certainly not as sophisticated as firearms today with automatic firing or advanced features, firearms inFinal Fantasy 14surely get the job done.

However, just what are the best firearms for players to use in theFinal FantasyMMO? More importantly, how would these weapons fare against some of the toughest monsters that players could encounter in the realm?
10Palaka Culverin
Players who want a more casual appearance as a Machinist might appreciate the Palaka Aiming Set, especially since its colors do remind of a pirate aesthetic. And itsPalaka Culverindoes quite the job of being a gun with an odd aesthetic, as it looks bulky for a rifle. Appearances shouldn’t fool players, though, as it hasdecent Physical Damage and Auto Attack, as well as decent bonuses towardsVitality and Dexterity, possibly encouraging a sturdier and durable long-range attack build - quite unlikethe more close-ranged Reaper.
Players can acquire the Palaka Culverin from theVanaspati DungeoninEndwalker, with arequired level of 85and an averageItem Level of 510.

9Manganese Arquebus
The Scarlet Moko Last Unicorn Set is quite stylish, with its pointed headpiece and outward overcoat. The large and imposingManganese Arquebusis a fitting addition to this stunningly fashionable piece. Granted, the weapon doesn’t boast as much Physical Damage and Auto Attack, but its stats remain decent enough for a stylish-looking weapon to carryplayers through their first few dungeonson the way to the endgame.
Players can acquire the Manganese Arquebus from theIronwood Weapon Coffer, as acquired from theJunkmonger in Elpis.

8Ktiseos Revolver
The Ktiseos Aiming Set is as brooding as it is stylish, particularly with its blank mask and sleek black overalls. However, what the Aiming Set has for mystery, theKtiseos Revolvercompensates with sheer firepower. Despite its name, the Ktiseos Revolver isn’t, by all means, a tiny revolver. It’s a large armament that boastsdecent Physical Damage and Auto Attackto push enemies back. Its focus onVitality and Dexteritybonuses means it’s a weaponencouraging more survivability over pure criticals- something the Machinist can excel in given its potential as a sub-DPS Job.
Players can obtain the Ktiseos Revolver upon completion of theKtisis Hyperboreia DungeonofEndwalker, with arequired level of 87and an averageItem Level of 515.

7Chondrite Magitek Handgonne
The Ophiotauroskin Aiming Set gives its wearer the feeling of being a steampunk police officer, especially with its coat and brimmed hat. And theChondrite Magitek Handgonneis a perfect addition to this aesthetic, particularly with its coiled design that would seemingly shoot lightning off its barrels.
While the weapon does lack in terms of Physical Damage and Auto Attack, it serves as a decent aesthetic weapon to carry the Machinist through some of the introductory dungeons along with the endgame. Not to mention, its base bonuses onDexterity,Vitality, andDeterminationdoencourage a more stable buildbased on dealing consistent damage over criticals.

The Moonward Aiming Set boasts a duelist’s appearance in a Western setting, and theMoonward Arquebusadds to this aesthetic with its lightning-shaped appearance, sleek visuals, and long barrel. Its stats make sure this weapon doesn’t become a pushover though, boasting decentPhysical Damage and Auto Attack, as well as a focus onVitality,Dexterity, andCritical Hit bonuses. 4Classical Handgonne
The Classical Sagittarius’s Set has this sleek black, carefree appearance that is just augmented with the heavy yet ornate nature of theClassical Handgonne. While by all means not ordinary-looking, the Classical Handgonne is the weapon with the closest appearance to a fantasy handgun in the series. It boasts decentPhysical Damage and Auto Attack, as well as high-enoughVitality,Dexterity, andCritical Hit bonusestoencourage a crit-based power build instead of a direct damage build.

Its base stats prove the weapon’s worth as perhaps the best of the series, with its decentPhysical Damage and Auto Attack, as well as stellar bonuses towardsDexterity,Vitality, andCritical Hit.
