Gacha games have been on the rise since the last decade and ever since,Genshin Impactcame out in 2020, the numbers have been exponentially increasing along with the amount of Gacha games coming on the market every year. These games are called gacha because of the feature in these games that allows players to obtain a new character, weapon, or item randomly after using the in-game currency.
Because of the incredibly low drop rates for the rarest characters in the game, Gacha games often have a pity or a mercy system introduced to prevent players from gambling all their precious currency and, in some cases, money for something. The pity system ensures that the player receives the desirable outcome after a certain number of pulls. While every gacha has somewhat of a different pity systemto help the players, some of these systems are more generous and better for players, while others are not so good. This list aims to help players figure out gacha games with the best pity system.

The Pity System is not only about the minimum number of rolls required to guarantee the obtainable character or item. Some games might require more rolls to reach the pity but at the same time, are generous with rewards and vice versa. This list accounts for this factor and takes the benevolent nature of the game when talking about the Pity System.
When it comes to the pity system in gacha games,Punishing: Gray Ravenoutclasses most of the gacha games by a long mile. The banner system is a bit complex to understand for beginners, but for starters, there are multiple types of banners available in the game that keep on changing.

Players inGray Ravenget a decent amount of choices for their pity. If choosing a banner with a higher chance of pulling an S-rank character, the hard pity is 80 pulls or research. However, if players don’t want to risk it, then they can go with the normal banners, which have a lower chance of pulling S-rank characters but come with a hard pity of 60 pulls.
Apart from this, instead of having only a 50% chance of obtaining the featured character on the banner,PGRhas a 70% chance, which is a testament to its player-friendly pity system. In rare events, players can even find banners on which there is a straight-up 100% chance of getting the desired character. The developers ofPunishing: Gray Ravenreward the players handsomely, thus making it easier for the players to pull for their favorite characters.

The pity system inLimbus Companyis not the most ideal version as players require 200 pulls to obtain their desired character or,as it is called, ‘Identity’ in the game. However, this is where the shard system comes into play. InLimbus Company, players can’t acquire multiple duplicates of a single character to make it stronger. Instead, the players get Egoshards when obtaining the dupes.
These Egoshards later could be used in the shop to obtain the Identity or EGO players want.Limbus Company’sGacha is also closely knit with its battle pass system and if players are ready to spend a little money on the game, it rewards the players quite generously.

Limbus Companyis also moderately generous when it comes to rewarding the players for playing the game. The game also allows players to efficiently farm most of the Identities and EGOs from the gacha banner, making this one-of-a-kind pity system player-friendly.
The pity system inAether Gazerworks similarly with games likeGenshin ImpactandHonkai: Star Rail. The Hard Pity is set at 70 pulls with a 1.6% chance per pull to obtain the S-rank character. On the first time, if players obtain an S-rank character on pity, or before it, then there is a 50% chance of obtaining the featured character on the banner. If players lose on the 50% chance, then the next pity is guaranteed for the featured character. In short, players at most require 140 pulls to obtain the featured character.

However, things change with the new pity system.Aether Gazerintroduces a new banner where the pity is set at 90 pulls. There is a 55-45 chance of obtaining the S-rank character featured on the banner before 90 pulls. The pity on this banner doesn’t reset as players obtain the banner character on the 90th pull. This extra option makes it easier for the player by giving themthe choice to guarantee their character in the long runor if they want to gamble through and obtain it faster.

Goddess of Victory: Nikkehas a pity system different from the traditional pity system that exists in the gacha games. Instead of having a pity system where players have to face various odds to obtain a character.Nikkehas a spark system that completely overrides this method.
The spark system gives players tickets whenever a pull is made on a banner and when players make 200 pulls, they can use these accumulated tickets to buy the character from the shop. If players get lucky before reaching the 200 pull and obtain the character, this spark system won’t reset.

The tickets obtained don’t expire, and they carry over as the banner ends and a new one comes. The chance to pull an SSR character is higher than in a lot of gacha games, though it remains constant, and the odds don’t increase as players get near the 200-pull mark.Nikkeprovides plenty of pulls for the playerswith its game content. However, not having the traditional pity system can make things tough for the players if they are not lucky enough.

Soul Tideis a turn-based game with players taking controlof these cute and adorable characters to fight against enemies. In order to obtain these characters, players need to go through the gacha system of the game and use the in-game currency to pull the characters from various banners.
The gacha aspect ofSoul Tidesounds similar to every other gacha but is very generous with its pity system.Soul Tidehas a short pity counter of only 50 pulls which carries over to the next banner. Each time a pull is made, players get a shard which can be used to buy these characters from the shop. These shards ensure that no pull is wasted and players can roll on any banner they want to.

One more thing is that inSoul Tide, there is no rarity to characters, which means players don’t have to worry about rolling the character, as each character is an SSR equivalent in itself. The game is also quite generous with the rewards, as players can do a single pull just with the rewards obtained from the daily missions. The ample rewards obtained for clearing the game content and a player-friendly pity system,Soul Tideis quite welcoming for new players and for long-time players of the game.

Counter Sideis a side scroller, hero collector game that has a slightly less generous gacha system. While the characters are good-looking, the chance of obtaining them from the banner is only 1%. The way the pity system works inCounter Sideis that on the 150th pull, players are guaranteed to obtain a copy of the rate-up character. On normal banners, the pity does not carry over when the current banner expires.
However, the Classified Recruitment banner, which features the awakened SSRs, ensures that the players receive the ASSR on the 150th pull, and if players do not receive it, then the pity carries over to the next banner. In Conclusion,Counter Sideis a fun game with plenty of activities to engage in, but the pity system of the game is not so generous and players have to spend their Quartz wisely.

The pity system inHonkai: Star Raildoes a good enough job to ensure that players aren’t robbed of the chance to get an SSR unit if they, had horrible luck as the chance to pull an SSR character before the pity is extremely slim. There are two banners in the game – Normal Banner and Featured Banner. In Normal Banner, there is a pool of SSR characters that does not change, and this banner doesn’t expire. When pulling on this banner, players are guaranteed to obtain an SSR character on the 90th pull and the chance to obtain an SSR character rises significantly after 70 pulls.
On the featured banner, when players reach the 90th pull mark, there is a 50% chance of obtaining the featured SSR and a 50% chance of obtaining an SSR character from the Normal Banner. If players lose the chance and receive a character from the normal banner, on the next pity, the featured SSR is guaranteed. The weapons or, as they are called Light Cones, in HSR have a separate banner of their own which works in, a similar fashion as the Featured Banner except, instead of having a 50-50 chance, it has a 75-25 chance of receiving the featured Light Cone.

The pity also carries over inStar Rail, which means players can build pity and take their chances to obtain a character that might appear on a banner in the future. The HSR’s pity system has a few key things to look out for, but once the players are familiar with the gacha, one can strategize a plan to utilize the pity system to its fullestto form a team to fight strong enemies.
The chance to pull a 5-star character inGenshin Impactis minuscule with the probability going even below 1%. So, to avoid punishing players by gambling on such a small chance, there is a mercy system in the game. InGenshin, there are mainly three banners, two for pulling characters and one for pulling weapons for these characters. For the character banners, one of them is permanent, and it has a hard pity of 90 wishes, and the chances to pull a 5-star character increase after making 75 wishes.

For the featured banner that has a specific 5-star unit available on it, the hard pity remains the same as the permanent banner. However, there is only a 50% chance of obtaining this featured 5-star unit. If players lose the chance, then the next 5-star character obtained is guaranteed to be the featured 5-star.
On the weapon banner, the hard pity is set on 80 pulls and there is a 75% chance of pulling the featured weapon. However, the weapon banner has more than one featured weapon and players can choose which weapon they desire. In the case where players receive the other featured weapon or a different 5-star weapon from what they wished to obtain, players will obtain a Fate point.
Once obtaining 2 fate points, players will receive the desired weapon of their own choice when the next 5-star weapon is pulled from this banner. However, the fate points get reset when the banner ends or if players choose to change the weapon they desire.
With the chance of obtaining the 5-star items being so low, the pity system comes as a savior for the players inGenshin Impactand helps a lot to minimize the damage from gambling in the worst-case scenario.
The pity system inSolo Leveling: Ariseworks in the same fashion as it does inGenshin Impact. It relies on terms like Soft Pity and 50-50 while rolling the characters from a banner. However, the probability of pulling a hunter from any banner before hard pity is better than inGenshin Impact. Here, the pity is set at 80 pulls and the soft pity starts after 64 pulls, which means the chances to obtain an SSR hunter increase after 64 pulls with the chance going up by 5.8% with each succeeding draw.
There is also a Selection Draw in the game which works wonders for the players. This banner works like a wishlist, as players can put a character or even a weapon on it. When an SSR hunter or weapon is obtained from the draw, it will randomly select an SSR item from the desired pool. This mechanism is useful when the players are fine with obtaining anything from their desired wishlist.
The Ultimate draw features a rate-up SSR hunter and this banner is available only for a short period of time. When players reach the pity, there is a 50% chance of obtaining the rate-up character. In case the player loses the chance, the next SSR character obtained is guaranteedto be the rate-up SSR.

When it comes to gacha,Reverse 1999can be considered on the generous side of the gacha games, be it in terms of rewards given to the players or the drop rates for rare units. The same can be applied to the pity system in the game as well.Reverse 1999features both soft and hard pity. The hard pity is set at 70 pulls, which means players are guaranteed to obtain a 6-star character on the 70th pull. For soft pity, it increases the chance to obtain a 6-star character from 1.5% to 4% after 60 pulls, and the chance to obtain a 6-star increases by 2.5% for each pull on which a 6-star character is not obtained.
The pity in Reverse 1999 also carries over on the banners of the same type, thus making it easy to build pity without needing to worry about the pity getting reset when the banner ends. Players can also obtain the 5 and 6-star characters from the Pawnshop by exchanging in-game currency obtained from in-game currency obtained from obtaining duplicates of the characters.
The characters available in the shop keep on changing, so players need to keep a tab on them. When it comes to the pity system inReverse 1999, the game is kind to the players and helps them substantially to obtain the desired characters.
