The Fontaine cycle of updates forGenshin Impactis approaching fast and will soon be available. Along with the new region and storylines, the Fontaine region is expected to release an extensive cast of new characters inGenshin Impact. Not only is version 4.0 expected to release new original characters, but plenty of background characters may finally join the playable roster in this version ofGenshin Impactas well.
Outside of the characters likely to feature inGenshin Impact4.0 updates, additional characters have been surfacing in recent leaks, via character design images and inspired nicknames from the community. These characters include Goth Girl, Lion Dance Boy, and Mummy Girl. While little information is available on these characters compared to others, this could soon change.

Every Leaked Character Expected to Release in Future Genshin Impact Updates
Alice is the mother of Klee, the Pyro Catalyst user, so many fans believe that Alice will be a Pyro Catalyst user like her daughter. Alice is also a known member of theHexenzirkel secret society. Not much is known about Nicole or Rhinedottir’s characters, besides that they are also members of the Hexenzirkel, and likely to use Catalyst weapons for this reason.
Wriothesley, also referred to as Risley, is shaping up to be either a Cryo or Pyro Polearm user. Fans who are familiar with HoYoverse’sHonkai: Star Railhave been pointing out how similar this character appears to the game’sSampo Koski character, though this raises as many questions as it answers for the time being.
Lyney and Lynette are anticipated to release in the very near future in the initial Fontaine region updates. Thanks to recent leaks forGenshin Impact, the community is confident thatLyney will be a five-star Pyro Bow user, due to the signature weapon that will release alongside this character. As for Lynette, this character is expected to be a four-star Anemo Sword user.
As the region’s official deity, Focalors, also known as Furina, is fully expected to be a five-star Hydro character. Certain leaks concerningFontaine’s Hydro Archonclaim that the character will be the first playable Hydro Claymore user inGenshin Impact, though this has been considered more of speculation than fully accurate.
Freminet is allegedly a four-star Cryo Claymore user, known to be a diver from Fontaine who will potentially serve as a guide for players to explorethe Fontaine region. Given this character’s speculated relevance in the region’s story and exploration, they are assumed to be released very early throughout the Fontaine series of updates.
Unlike a majority of the upcoming characters leaked forGenshin Impact, Charlotte is an existing character that will soon become available as a playable character. Charlotte is expected to be a Cryo user, and this character’s similarities toHonkai: Star Rail’s Charlotte point towardGenshin Impact’s Charlotte wielding a Bow.
Not much is known about Chirori, although the character has been mentioned before in existing content. Thanks to conversations and stories fromKirara, the Dendro Sword user, Chirori is known to be a fashion designer from the Fontaine region, and potentially a Pyro character.

Also known as the Marionette, Sandrone the puppeteer is a mysterious figure with little information available at the moment. Sandrone is a known member of the elevenFatui Harbingers inGenshin Impactand specializes in animating ruin machines. Arlecchino and Il Dottore are also members of the Fatui Harbingers and recentGenshin Impactleaks suggest that these characters will also join the playable roster soon, like Sandrone. Arlecchino will be a Pyro Sword user, and Il Dottore is expected to be a Claymore user with a currently unknown Element.
Several different iterations of this character have recently leaked online and they all point to this character releasing sometime inGenshin Impact’s Fontaine Region cycle. While the different variations of this character make it hard to anticipate what Element and weapon they will use, this character is ultimately expected to be a five-star character.
Navia is an upcoming character with very little information except for the character’s visual design so far. Despite appearing to wear a Hydro Vision, Navia will allegedly be a Geo character Ultimately, fans will have to wait for further information or leaks to learn more about this character.
Sertice is expected to be a four-star Pyro Sword user, thanks to leaks that have shown off the character’s recent file name and visual design. Even though this character was one of the earliest Fontaine region characters to leak, the updated information on this character still leaves many unanswered questions for now, including whether the leaks are accurate.
A recent leak for Dahlia has shown off the character’s visual design, potentially revealing the character’s background, Element, and choice of weaponry ahead of their upcoming release. Allegedly, Dahlia is a Catalyst user with a Hydro Vision from the Mondstadt region, who also appears to be wearing a style of clothing common with the Fontaine roster of characters.
Varka, the Grandmaster of the Knights of Favonius, has been occupied with an urgent expedition and has yet to meet the Traveler, so the community expects this character to turn up before too much longer, potentially arriving sometime in the version 4.0 updates. Varka’s playstyle is unknown, though players anticipate that this character will excel at dealing physical damage.
Waghild’s physical appearance and occupation are strikingly similar to Qiqi, the Cryo Sword user, who is a nurse from the Liyue region. Given this context, Waghild is anticipated to be a healer-type character, though nothing has been confirmed yet beyond similar speculations.
Beyond the character design for Neuvillette leaking from a trusted source, most of the information regarding this character at this point is purely speculation from the community. However, Neuvilette is generally expected to be a Hydro user with a close relationship to Focalors, the Hydro Archon.
