A newGenshin Impactleak has revealed more details about the upcoming anime adaptation that was officially announced during the 3.1 Special Program. The anime is a result of the collaboration between developer HoYoverse and Ufotable, which is the animation studio responsible for popular series likeDemon SlayerandFate.
A big part of theGenshin Impactcommunity has been asking for an anime adaptation of the game for a very long time, claiming that all HoYoverse has to do is focus on the same aspects that made the game so popular. With a unique character and world design that has attracted millions of players since the game arrived back in 2020, the bar seems to be pretty high, at least in terms of the story and animation.

A new post on the popularGenshin Impactleaks subreddit has given more details about the anime plot. According to the leak, the show’s timeline will feature the world of Teyvat before the arrival ofGenshin Impact’s main characters, Aether and Lumine. One of the main topics of the anime will be the legendary Archon War, an era of various power struggles between gods thousands of years ago. The anime will apparently feature one season for each major region of the game. However, the leaker did not specify how many episodes will be released per season or anything about the duration of each episode.
The leak has also revealed that the project has been in development for 18 months and three out of 12 episodes that willfeature the popular Mondstadt regionhave already been completed. The show will apparently have incredible visual effects, which does not come as a surprise considering that the game is known for its anime-inspired features.
Multiple replies in the comment section claim that they would love the anime to remain faithful toGenshin Impact’s official manga, which is far less popular than the game but includes a number of interesting storylines. The manga series focuses on a few characters like the popular Mondstadt siblings Diluc and Keaya, but it also gives more information about the Fatui organization as well as the corruption among the Knights of Favonius.
Fans also want the anime to focus onGenshin Impact’s unique world, which is divided into seven different continents. Each major region has its own representative element and an Archon who serves as its main protector. A number of comments have pointed out that if the Mondstadt war storyline takes 12 episodes to go over, the full show could easily feature over a hundred episodes, which confirms HoYoverse’s previous claims about the anime being a long-term project.
