Genshin Impacthas officially revealed a new story teaser video that features the recently released Dendro user Baizhu and this loyal companion named Changsheng. Baizhu is currently featured on the Limited Character Banner that also includes the five-star Cryo bow user Ganyu.
Baizhu has been one of the most anticipated characters inGenshin Impactsince his first appearance back in Liyue’s earliest quests. He was introduced as a doctor and the owner of the famous Bubu Pharmacy located in the northern part of Liyue. One of the reasons behind Baizhu’s popularity is the fact that for a long time, he was the only Dendro user that made an appearance in the game.

Genshin Impact’s official YouTube channel has posted a video named Story Teaser: Changsheng in which they’ve revealed more information about thenew five-star character Baizhuand his snake Changsheng. According to the video, hundreds, if not thousands of years ago, a Liyue doctor sought divine knowledge that would help him save all of his patients, even those whose time has come to an end. This is where he met Changsheng who offered him a contract that would teach him the secret art of healing that would allow him to prolong the life of even the most critically ill patients. However, in exchange, this secret art impacted the doctor’s health and upon his death, he transferred Changsheng and its divine powers to his final patient.
Generation after generation followed these footsteps and the contract got transferred to Baizhu. At the end of the video, Baizhu stated that he will be the last doctor to know this divine art which may be hinting at a future Story quest. Despite being one of theoldest characters inGenshin Impact, Baizhu is still a very mysterious individual.
Over the last couple of months, there have been a lot of fan-made theories regarding his origins and true intentions. One of the most popular theories claims thatBaizhu could be related to one of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers named Pantalonewho made his first appearance in the popular “A Winter Night’s Lazzo” trailer.
The two characters share a very similar design, with the color palette being the main difference. Pantalone’s overall design is much darker while Baizhu has a much brighter theme. When it comes to his power on the field,Baizhu is one of the best supports inGenshin Impactthanks to his Elemental Burst, Holistic Revivification, which allows him to constantly create a powerful shield.
