Hades 2already has players seeking out new and exciting ways to have fun with everything the game has to offer while hacking and slashing their way through its layers, and it isn’t even out of Early Access yet.
The decently sized roster of weapons currently available inHades 2is a great place to focus their attention, thanks to the way each weapon differs from the next, as well as the boons available to change the way weapons can work. Plus, a focus on ways to use weapons more efficiently is especially interesting in a game that famouslyencourages and supports speedrunning. As such, this article will be discussing and ranking the fastest weapons inHades 2, as well as sharing a few tips and tricks on how to make them even more speedy and powerful.

5Umbral Flames
The Slowest — And Bulkiest — In The Game
ManyHades 2players would agree that the Umbral Flames are by far the clumsiest weapons to learn to use in the game. They’re far slower than any other weapons available, but they’re also somewhat clunky and can be difficult to use. In fact, the regular attack alone is slow enough that it can make gameplay feel bogged down and inefficient, even with the help of boons and other bonuses.
In turn, this can turn longer fightslike boss fightsinto terrible slogs. They’re also tougher to use as they don’t have a speed-focused Aspect, meaning players are reliant mostly on boons and Daedalus Hammers for any potential boosts to speed the Umbral Flames up a bit.

4Moonstone Axe
Powerful But Slow
While the Moonstone Axe is a good weapon choice, it can be pretty slow. The Omega special in particular takes an especially long time to charge up, meaning that time is lost waiting around and damage can be taken while getting ready to launch the Omega attack, making it far less effective than other, faster weapons. Again, this isn’t to say the Moonstone Axe is bad — in fact, it’s easily one of the most powerful weapons in the game — but it simply can’t compare to other, faster weapons, especially with its moments of vulnerability. If you’re not as interested in the issue of speed, the Axe is still a great option.
One thing that can help with the Moonstone Axe’s speed is the Aspect of Melinoë, which is thankfully the first Aspect unlocked alongside the weapon. This Aspect allows Melinoë to recover faster after using her Attacks and Specials, which helps speed up fighting quite a bit. Of course, different boonswill also be a great help, though there aren’t many that will speed up the Axe versus simply making it even stronger.

3Argent Skull
Speedy But Requires Effort
The Argent Skull is a solid weapon choice inHades 2in terms of speed. While it’s not quite as fast as some of the options further down, it’s certainly less bulky than the Umbral Flames and has a little more speed to it than the Moonstone Axe. However, the one thing that can slow down the Argent Skull more than anything is the learning curve in figuring out how best to use it, especially as it differs from the other weapons available thanks to it being a projectile that Melinoë throws.
Similarly, there are some issues with the Skull being thrown and then landing in a place Melinoë can’t reach, leaving it unattainable. As such, while it is naturally quick to use, that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s the best weapon of choice, or that learning how to use it will be especially fast on its own. That being said, one thing that can helpspeed things up a little is the Daedalus Hammer upgrade Bolstered Array, which will add two more shells, adding to the ammunition players can use.

2Witch’s Staff
A Good All-Rounder
The Witch’s Staff is the first weapon players will get their hands on inHades 2, as it’sMelinoë’s starting weapon. As such, it’s a good option that is easy to learn, and it’s pretty good at dealing damage quickly, especially since it allows players to spam attacks to wipe out enemies a little bit faster. The Witch’s Staff is also pretty good thanks to how versatile it is — it can play into any playstyle, and it works well with several boons from a range of gods.
Much like the Moonstone Axe, the Witch’s Staff benefits massively in terms of speed from its Aspect of Melinoë, which is unlocked as the first Aspect for the weapon. With this Aspect, the player will Channel their Omega Moves faster, which does a ton to speed up gameplay, especially as Omega Moves can be irritatingly slow at times. Alongside this, though, players can especially benefit from Poseidon’s boons — particularly his Wave Flourish boon, which adds splash damage to Special Attacks. When paired with other boons or Daedalus Hammer upgrades, this can make attacking with the Witch’s Staff even faster, making it easier to wipe out crowds of enemies.

1The Sister Blades
Fast And Strong
The Sister Blades, Lim and Oros, are the best choice for a weapon focused on attacking as quickly as possible. Along with gaining Daedalus Hammers that increase speed, the Sister Blades can quickly become nigh unstoppable and a great way to push all the way through to the end of what the game has to offer in Early Access, including even allowing players towipe out Chronosquickly and efficiently.
The thing that makes the Sister Blades so great is that they’re incredibly versatile while remaining inherently speedy to use. They can beworked to fit boonsfrom anyHades 2gods, and this means players can bend them to fit whatever playstyle they’d like to use, all while keeping their attacks consistently fast. This is great for casual players and speedrunners alike, as speed is an important focus when clearing waves of enemies inHades 2. They also allow players to spam attacks very quickly, making them ideal for boss fights. Overall, they’re easily the fastest weapons in the game, but they’re also excellent at working toward whatever playstyle the player wants, making them a great option overall.
