Halo Infinite’s delay has been frustrating for everyone. Xbox fans were hoping forHalo Infiniteto be a launch title for the Xbox Series X console and the developers at 343 Industries wanted nothing more than to deliver that. Things didn’t work out as planned, but expectations forHalo Infiniteremain high. Now, what’s needed is an updated release date window forHalo Infinite. Luckily, Master Chief’s motion capture actor Bruce Thomas may have provided just that.
Thomas was doing an interview with YouTuber Dan Allen Gaming recently regardingCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. During the interview, Thomas was asked about his work inHalo Infiniteand whether he’d wrapped everything up. Thomas responded affirmatively, saying he believes so, and that “as far as I know, it’s in the can. Ready to go for next spring.” Thomas very clearly said thatHalo Infiniteis tentatively planned for spring 2021.

To be clear,Halo Infinitedoes not have a currently announced official release window. Thomas' comment is a leak at best and heavy speculation at worst. After all, he said himself that he only believes he’s done doing motion capture work for the new game. Even Thomas leaves room for the possibility of furtherwork being done onHalo Infinitethat he hasn’t been made aware of yet. As such, Thomas' prediction of a spring 2021 launch isn’t wholly reliable.
While Thomas' prediction of a spring 2021 launch may not be official in any capacity, it does make a lot of sense.Halo Infinitewas still near-complete when it was ultimately delayed. The delay has also been substantial, which should provide plenty of time for anychanges 343 might want to makeshort of massive reworks. Since no massive reworks have yet been confirmed or leaked, it seems like a release window announcement is only a short ways away.
The other important thing to keep in mind is that theXbox Series X really deserves a big game, as right now, it doesn’t have one confirmed.Halo Infiniteshould be that game, even with a major delay. Microsoft may be biding its time to announceHalo Infinitefor a spring release.
As for when Xbox game players can expect to find out whether this leak is accurate or not, it really depends on the leak’s accuracy. IfHalo Infiniteis coming out this spring, then an announcement should come soon, perhaps even as soon as The Game Awards 2020. If theBruce Thomas leakis false, then news may still be months away. Xbox fans will likely be excitedly waiting regardless.
