343 Industries partnered with sweets manufacturer Trolli to launch a limited-edition series of candy based onHalo Infinite, as well as a nationwide promotional giveaway, the two companies announced earlier this week. The lineup will consist of four distinct flavors of sour gummies that put aHalo Infinitespin on Trolli’s signature sweets.

Originally released in late 2021,Halo Infiniteis currently nearing the end of its second season. According to a roadmap provided by 343 Industries back in May, the next major milestone for the game is scheduled for September. That’s when the long-awaitedHalo InfiniteForge Modewill be launching in open beta.

TheHalo Infiniteseries of Trolli gummies will entail multi-flavored Original Sour Brite Crawlers, worm-like Very Berry Sour Brite Crawlers and Sour Bursting Crawlers, as well as alien-shaped Sour Gummi Creations. Since the Trolli brand is owned by Ferrara Candy, itself an American subsidiary of the Ferrero Group, these limited-edition sweets will be released exclusively in the United States. Most nationwide retailers will be stocking all four flavors for the next half a year, up until March 31st, 2023. Ferrara said nothing about pricing, so it’s to be assumed these limited-edition candies will be priced the same as the standard Trolli sweets they’re based on, which is in the range between $5.80 and $6.50, depending on the exact product and state.

Every purchase of a qualifying Trolli product will be rewarded with twoHalo InfiniteXP Boosts, as well as three Challenge Swaps. Uploading the receipts to trolli.com/halo will yield free codes that can be redeemed for in-game goodies. Each upload also represents a chance to win one of five Trolli gaming bundles consisting of high-end PC gear, an Xbox Series S console, and a custom, worm-themed controller.

While an official snack partnership marks new ground for theHalofranchise, Trolli itself has been actively marketing its offerings to gamers and moviegoers for a while now. Most recently, the Ferrara subsidiary teamed up with Universal Pictures to produce aJurassic World Dominionseries of Trolli candyback in June, together with a giveaway reminiscent of this newly announcedHalo Infinitestunt. The move is also in line with Microsoft’s growing willingness to experiment with theHaloIP outside of gaming. TheHaloTV series also stands in testament to that ambition, as Paramount started filming season 2 just last week.

That said, given the non-trivial number offeaturesHalo Infinitefans are still waiting for, this announcement probably isn’t the kind of news that most players were hoping to see in the run-up to the game’s first-year anniversary. Though one could argue there’s not much overlap between the gamers that will go online to complain about still-missing features and the target demographic ofHalo Infinitecandy.

Halo Infiniteis available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
