Not much has been revealed yet for 343 Industries' upcomingHalo Infinite, likely due to marketing strategies to use Microsoft’s flagship gaming franchise to boost the nextXbox Series X event. However, a new toy set may hint at some potentially huge implications for the story and the fate of a previously pivotal character within the recent series.
It should be noted that much of what fans have assumed to be a huge reveal is mostly speculation at this point, as 343 Industries has not yet confirmed how this new revelation relates toHalo Infinite. Of course, as returningenemies leaked through toy setslast month, fans should be prepared forPossible Story Spoilersto follow.

The leak in question comes from a Mega Construx set made as a tie-in forHalo Infiniteand to go alongside the company’s collection ofHalorelated block sets. One set titled, Defense Point Showdown, shows a Brute named Hyperius who seems to have a Spartan helmet fitted to the shoulder plate of his armor. Mounting the helmet, or more often the skull, of an enemy that a Brute has previously been a mark of honor to the alien race, according to the deeper lore that’s been explored by the interconnected series ofHalobooks, comics, and movies.
Some eagle-eyed fans have theorized that this helmet might belong to Locke, one of the primary characters fromHalo 5: Guardians, suggesting that Hyperius may have killed the Spartan Hunter. While it isn’t clear if Hyperius received the helmet before the events ofHalo Infiniteor during the campaign, a brute killing a Spartan at the skill level of someone like Locke could lead to the game pulling in some of thebest characters from past gamesand storylines. Even if the helmet doesn’t belong to Locke, even though the design is far too unique, this type of trophy would still make Hyperius a large enough threat to be a major player in the upcoming title.
Of course, none of this has been confirmed, and while the helmet does look strikingly similar to Locke’s unique helmet, it could have belonged to another hunter or simply have a similar design. It’s difficult to tell exactly from the figure’s design andHalo Infiniteleakshave been proven to be false in the past, so this type of evidence should be taken with a grain of salt. There is still so much that players don’t know about what 343 Industries plans to bring to the table when it comes to the upcoming Xbox Series X titles.
