Shadowheart holding the Astral Prism in Baldur’s Gate 3

1Dark Justiciar Gauntlets

Gauntlets Of A Fallen Dark Justiciar

These gauntlets are uncommon gloves available in Act Two ofBaldur’s Gate 3.They are found in the Gauntlet of Shar, which is fairly difficult to get to as it is, located deep in the shadow-cursed lands. Upon entering the Gaunlet of Shar, players will eventually encounter Yurgir, an Orthon fiend who has made a deal with Raphael, a powerful archdevil. Unable to fulfill the terms of his contract with Raphael, Yurgir will be confined to the Gauntlet of Shar, until players either kill him or help him fulfill his contract.

These gloves are hard to obtain purely because most players will end up fighting Yurgir and his minions, which is no easy task, and must get out of this alive to claim the gauntlets for themselves. The gauntlets are not items to be missed, providing additional necrotic damage after each successful attack.

2Bonespike Gloves

Very Rare Gloves That Overcome Resistance

TheBonespike Glovesare found in Act Three of the game, during the quest to Get Orin’s Netherstone. The difficulty with obtaining these gloves comes with entering the undercity ruins and completing a trialto enter the Temple of Bhaal. If players don’t plan accordingly, there will be a barrage of enemies ready to pounce and provide a serious challenge for the adventuring party. They allow the user to ignore resistance to Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing damage.

The gloves can be obtained by killing each of the enemies in the trial, particularly Strangler Luke, who will drop the Bonespike Gloves. Be warned though, there is a fairly short window of time in which the gloves are available. If players continue through the undercity ruins and into the Temple of Bhaal, the gloves will despawn. The short window in which they are available, combined with the strong offense mounted against the party make them a tedious item to obtain.

Raphael from Baldur’s Gate 3

3Gauntlets Of Hill Giant Strength

A Powerful Artifact That Must Be Stolen From An Archdevil

Raphael’s House of Hope is home to many coveted items, including theOrphic Hammer, which is critical to freeing the Githyanki Prince Orpheus. It also contains the Very RareGauntlets of Hill Giant Strength, which allow the user to increase their Strength ability to an eye-watering 23, providing a ridiculous +6 ability modifier.

While the act of obtaining these Gauntlets is fairly trivial, requiring them simply to be removed from a pedestal in the House of Hope archive, the ensuing problems that arise from this thievery can cause quite a headache. Snatching these gauntlets, along with the Orphic Hammer, will alert Raphael to the fact that thieves are in the house. While some measures can be taken to avoid alerting the devil, the act of getting into the archive both unnoticed and successfully swapping out the gauntlets is no easy task. What’s more, after returning to the material plane, playerswill be asked to give these gloves to Helsik, meaning players will either have to hand them over or pass an ability check to keep them, putting up several barriers before a player can truly call these gloves their own.

Gortash

4Gauntlet Of The Tyrant

The Gloves Of Lord Enver Gortash

Lord Enver Gortash is one of the primary antagonists inBaldur’s Gate 3, andJason Isaac’s commanding performance as the charismatic villainis indeed backed up by the sheer power propping up the despot. These gloves allow unarmed attacks to deal additional force damage, and provide a nice +1 bonus to Spell Save DC. Additionally, they allow the wearer to cast the Command spell at 3rd level once per long rest.

Looting these gauntlets from Gortash’s corpse is a mean feat indeed, as he is a force to be reckoned with. The fight with Gortash will require players to disable The Steel Watch, a powerful army of constructs that can dispatch players with ease. Additionally, when finally confronted, Gortash will have several tricks up his sleeve, including several powerful allies, and mechanisms on the wall which will cast a powerful incinerate spell.

5Gloves Of Soul Catching

A Reward For Freeing The Dwarven Cleric From The House Of Hope

Another powerful artifact located in Raphael’s House of Hope is the Gloves of Soul Catching, which will be rewarded to the party by Hope, the Dwarven Cleric imprisoned in the basement of Raphael’s home. They will allow unarmed strikes to deal an additional 1d10 force damage, and once per turn, can regenerate 10 hit points on a successful hit. Players can forego the healing restoration to instead gain advantage on attack rolls and saving throws until the end of their next turn, and they provide a neat +2 bonus to Constitution.

Players must fulfill a pretty cumbersome set of circumstances to successfully claim these gloves as their own, which involves infiltrating the archdevil’s home, making their way to the basement, and taking on several Vengeful Imps, and a few Spectators, which are forms of lesser beholders. This fight itself is not the most difficult one. However, to leave the House of Hope and properly utilize these gloves, players must also defeat a hostile Raphael, who will not take kindly to his prisoner being freed.

6Helldusk Gloves

Gloves Protected By A Powerful Incubus

Yet another item available in The House Of Hopeare the Helldusk Gloves, which are Very Rare gloves that grant a +1 bonus to Spell Save DC, and Spell Attack Rolls, as well as dishing out an extra 1d6 fire damage with weapon attacks, or 1d6 necrotic damage for unarmed attacks. It also gives a small +1 bonus to Strength Saving Throws and allows players to cast Rays of Fire every short rest.

Of course, to truly claim and utilize these items, players will need to defeat Raphael before leaving the House of Hope, but these gloves can only be obtained if players opt to attack Haarlep instead of cooperating. Haarlep is no easy prey, summoning half a dozen Vengeful Imps to assist him in the battle. Haarlep is a tricky target to hit too, as his penchant for Ethereal Escape can make him pretty annoying to deal with. He’s a level 9 character with a +5 bonus to initiative and 169 hit points, or 219 on Tactician.Any player that can best this characterwill be able to loot theHelldusk Glovesfrom his corpse.
