It may have taken years forHawkeyeto take the spotlight, but now it seems like Clint Barton could finally be getting his due after a slight tweak in Disney’s websites hinted at Marvel Studios' archery master getting another season alongside his apprentice, Kate Bishop.

Up to this point,Lokiis the only live-action Marvel Studios serieson Disney Plus to have received instant confirmation of a follow-up season, with the announcement acting as the series’ actual post-credits scene. InWandaVision,The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,Hawkeye, orMoon Knight’scase the situation is a bit different, as either their respective narrative arcs or the shows' less impressive performance compared toLokihave kept Marvel Studios from making any further announcements.

While it’s hardly any kind of concrete confirmation, Disney made some stealth changes to the “Consider” section meant topromote theHawkeyeseriesfor nominations in the Emmy Awards. The series was previously listed the six-episode show under the “Best Limited Series” category. Instead,Hawkeyeis now referred to as an “Outstanding Comedy Series,” which admittedly could amount to nothing or would very much confirm Disney’s intent to produce a second season.

ConsideringHawkeye’s finale reintroduced Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, as well as an entirely new character already lined up for her own series in Alaqua Cox’sEcho, there seems to be more than ample ground for Jeremy Renner to continue thriving in the MCU. At the same time, Hailee Steinfeld still lacks a clear-set path in Marvel Studios' Phase Four, meaning she could use the extra screen time to establish Kate Bishop as a more important character. Of course, Disney could also simply be keeping its options open, with no decision regardingHawkeyeseason 2 being settled one way or the other.

As if that wasn’t enough, a Marvel StudiosDaredevilseries with Charlie Coxis in development, which again could open further opportunities for the Hawkeye character, regardless of whether Matt Murdock shows up in eitherShe-HulkorEcho. One thing to keep in mind is thatHawkeyeis believed to be Marvel Studios' worst performer on Disney Plus, something that would hardly come as a surprise given the character was largely recognized as the least popular Avenger.

In the meantime,Disney Plus' next superhero series will beMs. Marvel, a character who suits the MCU’s current cosmic and multiverse plot lines far better than Clint and Kate with their bows and arrows, or evenMoon Knight’s strange finale that still lacks any kind of connection to the rest of the MCU.
