The Tomb of the Villager is a hidden and easily missable area inHogwarts Legacy, as it’s only possible to complete at night. However, it’s worth a visit to this somewhatsecret location players may missas it contains a puzzle to solve and a mysterious reward to obtain, plus the chance to see other ghosts outside of Hogwarts Castle.

However, it’s possible to find other kinds of puzzles with a bit of exploration, and players must often use spells they’ve learned to solve them.The Tomb of the Villager puzzleisn’t too tricky to solve, but players will need any fire attack likeIncendioandAcciospells as a prerequisite.
Updated August 23rd, 2023: To collect the secret loot found in theTomb of the Villager in Hogwarts Legacy, players will need to complete a puzzle. Thankfully, the puzzle itself isn’t particularly difficult if players have the right spells and know where to look when inside the area surrounding theTomb of the Villager. To better help players in completingHogwarts Legacy’s Tomb of the Villager Puzzle, the following guide has been updated to include a video.
Where To Find The Tomb Of Villager In Hogwarts Legacy
Players can find the Tomb of the Villager in thegraveyard on the west side of Hogsmeadevillage. However, the tomb entrance is only accessible at nighttime, when some ofHogwarts Legacy’s ghostsappear in the graveyard.
Head up the stairs in the graveyard past the pair of ghosts playing catch with a ghostly head. There is a nearby crypt entrance called Tomb of the Villager which players can only enter at night. Once inside, players can find a chest and a small bag on the left near a secret wall entrance that opens when players stand close.
Inside the secret wall entrance, players can hear a group of Ashwinder Scouts talking. Creep up usingstealth gameplay tacticslike the Disillusionment spell, or use Ancient Magic moves to take them down and grab any loot. There’s a set of pillars blocking players' paths and a strange circular symbol on the floor, so it’s time to solve the puzzle.

Solving The Tomb of Villager Puzzle
To solve the Tomb of the Villager puzzle, players need to follow these steps:
Use The Rotating Platform
On the left side of the room is a small bowl on a rotating platform. Use a fire spell like Incendio to light the bowl if not already set ablaze during the battle, which turns the platform. Jump onto the platform and stand on the circular pressure switch. The wall rotates, teleporting the player to the space behind the wall of pillars.
Use Accio To Complete The Puzzle
Behind the pillars, there’s a cube on a small platform in the wall. Use the Accio spell to grab it and place it on the floor so it’s grabbable from a distance. Use the rotating wall mechanic to return to the previous area with the circular symbol. Players can now use Accio again to lift the cube in midair. Place it on the circular floor symbol in front of the pillars and cast Incendio on the cube so it glows.
Casting Incedio opens a secret doorway behind the pillars, leading into an adjoining room containing a chest. Inside, players may find an unidentified item, such as a head or face item, which players can identify using the Identifying Table inthe Room of Requirement. The pillars still block the player’s path, so use the rotating wall to reach the newly opened room and open the chest.
